Characters in January

During the slower times do they still have good amounts of characters in the parks? I will be there december 31 - January 8th and I hope that we can still meet a good amount of characters! Thanks!

We have always found that we see more characters in the winter (we usually go in February) than we did when we visited in the summer. I think this might be because it is so hot in the summer that the characters have to take more frequent breaks so that they do not faint from the heat inside their suits! (Just a theory.) I think you will find plenty of characters when you go, and be sure to ask at Guest Relations when you enter the park where and when to find your favorites. Have a great trip!

I pondered this question, too! I agree with the above poster, that January and the cooler months are GREAT for character hunting! I went to WDW in January 2002, 2003, and 2004 and seemed to find tons of characters. The lines are shorter in January, too, so they are easy to greet. I read reports of the summer when it's super hot, the characters have far more limits, and I am sure "face" characters with lots of makeup can't be out much in the Florida heat.

That being said, I just returned from a trip the last week of October, and it was the WORST character trip EVER for me. Maybe the hurricane and humidity effected things, who knows. Hope it's not the start of a new trend. But there were very few characters out, and it seemed to always be Mickey, Minine, Goofy, Pluto, Chip, and Dale - over and over wherever I went! I lost count of how many times I kept seeing them! Hopefully it was just an off-week, I suppose!
