anyone been to the park recently encounter it or anyone know where it might happen? Any info about it would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

I was there on Sunday, April 10 and they did it as I was exiting the park on the far left. We had just gone through the turnstyle and there are some big gates and we saw people standing around and we asked and nobody would tell us what they were waiting for so I presumed the Characterpalooza and we waited for about 5 minutes. At 4:00 exactly the gates opened and characters came out. We had seen all of them before so we just waited to see the Evil Queen.

Best tip I have is prioritize who you want to see when they come out. It's a short experience and pretty impossible to get them all in unless you get lucky. And know the most rare of the characters get the longest lines. Last week Meeko and Pocahontas were there and their line filled within 1, 2 min.

Was it between the bag check and entrance to park (where magicbands are scanned)? I am subscribed to KTP but am not sure specifically where outside the entrance!

Nevermind! I am an idiot. Just went to look at KTP's info again and found what I was looking for! It's been a long (but amazing) day!!!

It's just in such a strange location. It's like they don't want you to experience it. I don't get it. IF people are flooding the lines and it is popular, why not just expand it? DHS could certainly use some additional things to do. And furthermore, you don't even need a park ticket to do this? So, on the day I arrive, we don't have a ticket to use, I just head to DHS for this?

I have never quite understood their mindset for it.

It's handled similar to a Character training spot at Epcot. Their reasons there make sense. They are random and based on who needs practice at that time. I don't believe Characterpalooza is a training situation. I have understood it to be a place for F! characters to get out. But maybe those are new "friends" so it serves dual purpose? I really don't know

"Palooza" is not an opportunity to train the help like Epcot is. Epcot lets the characters train their new blueberries and photogs while Palooza is an extension of Fantasmic.

Last Monday we stumbled upon it by accident as we were leaving and the only characters out were Pluto, Genie and Meeko. I was pretty disappointed!

I am confused by this as well. Over the years, palooza has been very popular. Disney sees this, yet they don't seem to care. I say they don't seem to care because they don't let people see somewhat rare and rare characters more often. And they do seem to try to hide it away. You'd think with all the extra price options Disney has had lately they'd have a rare character paid event, I'd definitely go.

I'd also get Kenny's app, the itme changes for palooza from week to week and he'll always have the correct times. It is only $7 for the whole year and definitely worth it, his times are usually more accurate than Disney's own app, and he provides interaction tips which can help to have a better time with the characters.

Think about that.

Fun! Has anyone ever shown up and NOT had characterpalooza happen?
It's dependent upon the weather and how the Fantasmic CMs are scheduled for that day.

Because all involved are show performers (even the ones who look like Attendants), they won't be sent out if it may begin raining or if lightning is within 7 miles of the park.

If most CMs with show-only shifts are performing that day, there will be a lesser amount of characters out for Palooza. Palooza is a filler assignment for the Fantasmic performers. It allows them to have a full shift for that specific day.

I went ahead and registered for Kenny the Pirate Character Locator but can not find the schedule for Character Palooza. Can some one tell me where I find it?

It's toward the bottom of the DHS character list (with a picture of Dopey last time I looked).
