I was watching a recent Samantha Brown special and she said that Epcot was a better place to get character autographs vs. MK toontown fair.... any comments on this? This will be our first trip seeing Epcot and I remember how long those lines were during an off season October week... just can't imagine what they'll be like the week of Thanksgiving:scared1:

TIA

well it used to be that it was the best place to see the characters. it seemed few people knew about it. there were no obvious signs that there were characters in there and you couldnt see through the windows.

well , secrets out. the windows are clear now and theres a sign saying its a character spot. so its no longer the gem it once was. but, the lines arent as bad as toon town. like any other character spot get there first thing or last. the middle of the day will have lines.

throughout the World Showcase. Fo instance Alladin and Jasmine can sometime be found in Morocco. Bell and the Beast can be found in the France pavillion.

If you go to Epcot you can ask a CM which characters will be available that day.

This last trip we did the Character Spot at Epcot instead of Toontown. It was a lot easier - one line, 6 characters (Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, Chip and Dale, not necessarily in that order!). The wait was probably 45-60 minutes, but you didn't have to see 2 characters, then get back into another line for other ones. HTH

Sounds like I may be able to get most of the characters taken care of at Epcot... my boys are a bit older and will no longer admit to having crushes on girls... much less princesses.... the only Princesses we didn't meet last trip was Ariel, Belle, and Aurora... Where besides a character meal is the best place to meet Aurora? I'd like to catch Belle and the Beast together at Epcot and I know where to find Ariel.

We saw Sleeping Beauty in a little garden area in France. Actually we saw Belle first, and she told us her friend Aurora would be out in a few minutes and pointed us in the right direction. We were the only people in the area when Aurora came out, so she walked right up to DD5, took her by the hand and walked across the garden with her to the photo spot. It was truly a magical moment for us, since Aurora is by far DD's favorite princess. I was bawling like a baby! :rotfl:

We did the "speed tour" of EPCOT, pretty much only stopping for characters. We also saw Mulan and Mushu, Donald, Dopey, Jasmine, Aladdin and Genie, Belle and Beast (although he left before it was our turn for photos). They were all outside in plain sight, although that was in Feb., so temps were mild. We stopped by the character spot, but the line was 45 min. long, and we were going to Chef Mickey's for dinner.

I have to say I love character dining vs. finding them in the parks especially during free dining time. However, if the parks is the way, AK is a great non stressful place to find them (mickey, minnie, goofy ect.) Epcot :Akershus princess dining is great if you have a little princess in your group. Good Luck!
