Character pictures

I was wondering what you thought about waiting in line to take pictures with the characters if you are an adult? I was waiting to take pictures with Winnie the Pooh and then a family with little kids lined up behind me. I had a horrible thought that I would take the last picture with the character before they left and the children behind me wouldn't get it. (Luckily that didn't happen, we all got our pics) Should I have let them go first? I thought that since I was in line first it was okay. Sometimes I feel like the families behind me are mad because I don't let them go first. Was I wrong? Is there a proper etiquette? Any feedback is appreciated, I'm going back to the parks soon! Disneyland is for everyone!! I have a large family & would have absolutely no problem with an adult being in line to hug a character!! I love getting my hugs & pics with them. Disney makes all of us kids!!! Never feel bad for wanting that extra Disney Magic!!

No, it's not wrong to stay in line and get your photo taken. Children have to learn patience anyway lol

You did nothing wrong. As long as you wait in line for your turn, you're not obligated to let families with kids go in front of you. If you did that, you'd never get your turn! Regardless of age, every guest is entitled to equal use of all attractions. And that includes Pooh!

no, you're not wrong. you paid your admission the same as anyone else, and are entitled to any and all the fun you want to have. I started going to the parks when I was in my 20s, and didn't have my daughter til I was 40. She loves looking at the stacks of pictures I have where I'm with the characters.

I think you have every right to take and hold on to your place in line! The characters are for every visitor, not just kids! That said, I can't promise I wouldn't be annoyed with you if you're in line in front of me and I'm waiting with my kids after a long day of standing in lines and all dd wants in the world at that moment is to meet Pooh. I'd be in the wrong, though. So I apologize now in advance while I'm at my computer with a cool head and kids in bed for any dirty stares I give grown-up kids waiting in line ahead of us .

The characters are there for everyone. Before we had children we visited WDW. Our nephew who was 6 at the time asked us to say hello to Buzz and Woody for him. We queued up and had our photo taken with them, we were the only adult only group. The characters were such fun and we got an amazing picture. My nephew was thrilled and had the photograph by his bed for a very long time.

When in the parks with my children I usually ask the handler how long the character is going to be out for before joining the queue.

Heck yes, get your photos taken with every character you see at any age! There is absolutely no rule that says that adults have to take a back seat to kids in taking photos. As long as everyone is waiting in line, whether they are adults only or adults with kids, everyone gets a fair shot. We are all paying good money to be at DLR and have the full Disney experience. No one has priority over anyone else, although we might make some exceptions here and there and let certain people go in front of us. Many adults don't have kids - like yours truly and many of my friends. But we eat at Goofy's Kitchen, we go stand in the line for Christmas Pooh and Christmas Tigger, we will go to Storytellers or pose with Goofy in ToonTown - as others have said here, Disneyland is for everyone!! I don't care what anyone thinks who is in line with me - if I want a photo with characters, I am waiting in line like everyone else!!

Ditto to what everyone else said. I'm 24 and I love meeting and taking pictures with the characters. Heck, I even have my autograph books in hand. Even though I always seem to be the oldest one in line (let alone with an autograph book), I don't care

Some of the best character photos on our family trip were with just the adults. Enjoy your photo ops guilt free!!

You paid to get in, take your pictures! The CM's are normally pretty good about shutting the line down so I never worry about that. And yes, I've stood in line without the kids to get photos. Not many but a few!

Get your picture taken, DH and I did it when we were at DLR w/out our kids. We love the pictures and it was really fun!

I feel so much better after reading this post. I am still a kid (well at least at heart) and when I do get to DLR I am even more of a kid.

I am looking forward to meeting all my favorite and then some characters this coming June.

I am even making my own autograph book and already have my tigger pen ready.

I have no problem waiting in line with my kids behind adult only parties. If you choose Disney as a vacation spot, the character pictures make wonderful memories. You paid to get in too!

I love Character interactions! I've filled one autograph book already! I have no qualms about getting into line for characters... Or following them as they weave around town square to settle on a spot! The hard part is getting someone to take my picture but thankfully most of them have handlers or photopass there that can take them.

I don't see anything wrong with it, you waited in line just like everyone else.

One day I was walking to work and ran across these two - they literally grabbed me and we ran from the resort entrance (at Epcot) all the way to the fish and chips window. Kids waiting for them laughed their little heads off

You evil woman! How DARE you! Those poor sweet little... yah no it's totally cool. This goes for pretty much anyone form santa to the easter bunny. Harry potter book signings to super fluffy megatron paki snacks. You have the right to achieve what the intent of that line was for.. if you waited in it.
