Character photo ops without photopass

Is that a possibility? I want to meet/have pics taken with Kylo Ren, BB8, Chewie, etc but we simply can't afford photopass pics this time around. Can my husband and I trade off the camera and take our own pics?

Any time you see a Photopass photographer, you can give them your phone or camera and they will take a picture for you.

The photopass photographers are more than happy to take a photo of all of you with your phone.

Photographers and/or characters handlers where they have them, will take photos of both you and your DH. No need for you to trade off. You can be in the photo's together. The only thing you'd loose out on without MM is ride photos.

The PP or the greeters are always happy to take photos with your camera. Not even an issue.
