you have all been so amazing at helping me plan this awesome trip we're about to take next month, but am just wondering...

is there a superthread somewhere, or any kind of list of all the characters you can do meet and greets with, in both DLR and DCA?

obviously, we'll head to the main street on the day we go to DLR and DCA to get a timeframe for who is appearing when, but we wanted to first make sure we knew exactly who we could/couldn't get meet & greets with :confused3

The biggest problem is that no characters are ever guaranteed anywhere, any time, ever. Even scheduled ones that cast members tell you about don't always work out. The only ones you're guaranteed to see are:

1) Rapunzel, Tinkerbell and Mickey Mouse at their respective meet locations
2) Chip and Dale, Minnie Mouse, Goofy, Mickey Mouse and Ariel at their respective character dining locations
3) Mad Hatter and Alice at musical chairs (if it's happening that day. There's also no guarantee - generally slim chance in fact - of autographs or photo's at MC)

Aside from that, you'll just need to ask about which characters you hope to see. Cast members won't list characters and times for any character except the specific ones you're asking about. So think ahead of time which characters you want to find.

TIP: You don't have to go to City Hall to find out about characters. In fact, City Hall can get very busy with long lines, so I'd recommend you avoid it. Instead, head to the end of mainstreet. On the left side, before the hub and next to the white construction wall on your way to adventureland, there is a small kiosk with a cast member sitting all alone and bored. This person has access to all character information and can help find characters...and save time.

Like Hoku said, you can't guarantee seeing specific characters but I can tell who you MIGHT see at certain locations based on our recent trip.

DLR:
- Princess Fantasy Faire has 3 princesses. We saw Snow White, Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty.
- Pixie Hollow has Tinkerbell and, when we went, Iridessa and Vidia. The latter two apparently switch off so you're only really guaranteed to see Tinkerbell. DD5 wanted to go try again to see her other favorite fairies but I didn't want to waste the time in line again.
- One morning around 11 am near the Castle's side paths, I saw Ariel, Sleeping Beauty and a third princess (blocked by line of kids) on their "Royal Walk". You can ask CM about these from what I hear.
- At Tangled, we only got Rapunzel but I have heard the guy is sometimes there, too. Sorry, I forgot his name.
- One afternoon, as we entered the park, I saw Minnie on Main Street in the plaza right by Town Hall.
- In Toontown, we saw Minnie in front of her house and Mickey in the back of his house (long line to get to him and he was wearing his sorcerer outfit). We also saw Pluto on the street.

DCA:
- I saw Goofy in a hawaiian shirt near Goofy's Sky School.
- I saw green army men at one point somewhere near Little Mermaid (I think they were wandering as opposed to a set station).
- While we were on Mickey's Fun Wheel, I saw Woody and Jesse posing for photos under some sort of covered awning area.
- At Ariel's Grotto, we saw Ariel (guaranteed as she greets every diner as you walk in) and 4 other princesses: Belle, Aurora, Cinderella, and Snow White
- There is a spot to meet Duffy but he wasn't there when we walked by.

I'm not counting character sightings where you can't walk up to them and talk or pose for a photo with them (e.g., Soundsational Parade, Aladdin musical).

P.S. We were there for the start of Halloween so they also had meet-n-greets with villains (e.g., Cruella de Vil, the cats from Pinocchio, Captain Hook, etc.) at a staged area near IASW and on the path near Haunted Mansion.

HTH!

Just to add to above

In Disneyland we often see Woody and Jessie by Big Thunder Ranch, Brer Fox and Brer Bear near Splash. Winnie the Pooh & friends have a meet and greet area near Splash.

awesome :) thanks for the info...

i knew there were no 'set' meet & greets, but had heard about pixie hollow & mickey/minnie's houses..

i guess we'll just take it as it comes when we get there, and see how we go.
any suggestions for good autograph books, or should we just buy them when we get there too?

I guess it depends if you want a basic autograph book or something specific. you can find older ones for cheap at Amazon or dinseystore.com.
