I'm just a kid at heart-ok I still act like I'm a teenager....sometimes younger ;) and I really want to go to a couple character meals. DH is ok with it, but he put his foot down when I suggested the Princesses at Akershus. (I've loved Aurora since I was 3)

Since my friends just like to tease me, I figured this was a good place for recs. We're 28/23 and it's my 5th time to WDW and Dh's 2nd. I was thinking Crystal Palace, and the Garden Grille with Chip n Dale? Sound good? Anything better? TIA :)

We like the Lilo and Stitch breakfast at Ohana. We go late -- around 11 a.m. and it's usually not too noisy or insane. In addition to Lilo and Stitch, Mickey is there, usually with Pluto, Minnie and perhaps one other.

We also have enjoyed the Farmer Mickey dinner at Garden Grill. And, to my surprise, we enjoyed dinner at Chef Mickey's. It's crazy and noisy and insane, but we thought the food was surprisingly tasty. We went on rib night (Saturday night as I recall) and there were several decent things to eat, although the prime rib was poor.

Also, I think a meal with the princesses is a Disney classic!

Dh and I don't go to character meals, unless we're with the kids, but the above are the ones I'd pick were we to go.

DH and I are 56 and 51 -- and we still do character meals and will continue to do so until we can no longer go to Disney.

Our favorite is Crystal Palace for breakfast with Pooh and friends (love the puffed french toast and the potato casserole). Our next favorite would be Cape May Cafe with Minnie, Goofy and Donald Duck and then Chef Mickey's with the gang.

We did the Princess lunch in Norway two years ago--didn't care for the food (and that's actually what we went for). Aurora was not there when we were there.

We have not tried the new one at AK with Donald Duck; and we've not done the one at the Polynesian. We do not like Stitch at all and I do not care for the limited amount of food they serve family style (I'm not an egg lover). We really loved it at the Poly when it was still a buffet and had Minnie, Pluto, Goofy, etc.

In any event, go to character meals. Disney is for KIDS of ALL AGES!

My mom and I started traveling annually to WDW when I was in my late 20’s and she was in her late 60’s and at least two of her sisters would join us on each of our trips and we always scheduled several character meals. My mom loved Chef Mickey’s and the Crystal Palace. There were many occasions when the characters would just sit down and join us for a moment or two. They never seemed rushed and would always take the time to pose for several photos and/or autographs.

In May, I will be traveling with my aunt and uncle (my mom passed away years ago), both of which are in their 80’s and the first thing my aunt said was, “you can plan all of the TS meals, but I want to go to the Crystal Palace for breakfast with Pooh”. In October, my husband and I will be traveling back to WDW to celebrate my 50th birthday, and I will be making reservations at the Crystal Palace and Cape May (breakfast with Goofy).

Enjoy your trip and the character meals.

Lizzie

Ohana breakfast with Lilo and Stitch is outstanding!! I would also recommend lunch at the Castle with the Princesses. You meet every Princess and the food is great. It's TS so no buffet, higher quality food.

Ok great I'm not crazy then :) I really want to go to the Princess Breakfast, but I'm a notoriously picky eater, and DH might have issues....heh :)

I might have to double check on O'hana-I hadn't even thought about that! Thanks!

DF and I are 28/23 and we are going to a bunch of character meals on our honeymoon. We are doing 1900 Park Fare for dinner, Chef Mickey's for dinner, and Crystal Palace for dinner. Its Disney anything goes :)

We have a mixed group and are doing 3 character meals. Truthfully I'm just as excited as my kids are. Our party is:
Me (31); DH (35); son (5); daughter (2)
my mom (50); my dad (50); my sisters (27 & 20)

Anyway, I'm hoping to get:
Crystal Palace (breakfast)
Tusker House (breakfast obviously)
1900 Park Fare (dinner)

And in terms of non-character but still "fun"
Whispering Canyon Cafe
50s Prime Time Cafe

I know that's a lot of non-relaxing dinners but at WDW, I view the dinner as a chance to have even more magic so I don't want to just sit & eat. KWIM?

Oh and Crystal Palace and Tusker House pretty much knocks out the characters my kids are most familiar with:
Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore & Piglet at CP
Mickey, Daisy, Donald & Goofy at TH (I think I got those right - just checked, it's right now)

DH and I ate at Crystal Palace for dinner. We were going to cancel our ADRs because we were NOT interested in character interaction on our honeymoon - we just wanted to eat!

We are SO GLAD we didn't cancel! :cool1:

This was one of the most fun meals of the trip - Eeyore is my FAVORITE character, and when he came over he made "kissy" noises in my ear!

Tigger saw that DH was wearing the "Just Married" pin and gave him a thumbs up.... it was just a really fun experience, I'd do it again in a heartbeat! It was nostalgic and made me feel like a kid again! :lovestruc

I found Chef Mickey's to be one of my favorite meals on property...just so much fun and I found the food good. Also, I proposed over dinner at CRT, so that one's got a pretty special place in my heart.

There's nothing wrong acting like a kid, enjoying the characters, etc. At Disney, EVERYONE is a kid....some people just aren't willing to let go.

We loved Donald's Safari Breakfast! We got a reservation before the park opened, ate breakfast, and then got to be one of the first on the Safari ride! It was GREAT!!! Oh, and it was just us adults. :thumbsup2

My HB (35) and I (38) LOVE going to character meals. Our daughter was even on the way yet and we went to Crystal Palace and Garden Grill and had a great time. We're going this April and we've got three CM's reserved and are trying to schedule another and our daughter who will be 9 months old won't care. We're doing the meals for US. We love them that much.

1900 Park Faire - the food is nothing to write home about but:

Cindy and her Prince are there so that would help get your princess fix
The Stepmother and Stepsisters are there, and besides being a unique experience they are prone to "flirting" with the men folks, and watching your Hubby squirm might just be a lot of fun for you. =)

On our last trip (2 adults) we had breakfasts lined up at Chef Mickey's, Donald's Safari Breakfast, and Crystal Palace. We love hanging out with the characters!

I highly recommend Donald's Safari Breakfast. Yummy food, all the best characters (sorry Pooh!), and "free" jungle juice!
