Hello! My family and I are going to Disney this October for mnnshp, and my two year old nephew will be coming with us. I was trying to figure out what character breakfast/full-meals he would find most enjoyable, considering he's a "Little Boy" and has no clue who any of the Disney Princesses even are. Anyway, I was wondering if any of you have suggestions for a non-princess-y character meals? He abosolutely loves the toy story characters; do they have any character meals with Buzz and the Gang? Also, I think the Crystal Palace has Winnie the Pooh and Friends, is that place any good? Any help would be much appreciated! :) Thank you!

I would suggest Donald's Breakfastosaurus in AK, although a lot of people don't like it, we LOVE it! They have lots of food choices (hot bar with biscuits, bacon, sausage, eggs, hashbrowns, etc and cold bar with cereal, donuts, muffins, danish, coffee cafe, fruit, etc.) and the characters are dressed for a safari! When we went in June we saw Mickey, Donald, Goofy, and Pluto....they change out, but there are always 4 characters and always Donald. We really liked it and are going back on our Oct. trip.

Crystal Palace is really very good too. I have read very few reviews that were less than glowing. Most people really enjoy this one, whether it's for breakfast, lunch or dinner. We ate at CP for a late lunch last year and were really impressed by the buffet food. It's really good and the Pooh characters are just so cute. The restaurant itself is really pretty and is full of windows so you can see the castle from most tables too. This would be a great one too.

Other non-princess meals are things like Garden Grill with Chip and Dale, Chef Mickey's with the gang, Cape May Cafe I believe has Chip and Dale? I don't remember who is there....Liberty Tree Tavern has the Mickey and gang characters...there are probably more, but those are the only ones I can think of.

They tested a "Disney heroes" character meal aimed at boys back in May, but I have not heard of any plans to continue it. We love CP for breakfast; lunch and dinner are OK, too, but the breakfast buffet is really good. We like to get an early ADR and then hit some of the more popular attractions before the park gets really crowded. The atmosphere is so classic too. Liberty Tree Tavern has an assortment of characters - Minnie, Chip and Dale, Mico to name a few, and the family-style dinner is decent.

Two thumbs up here for lunch at the Crystal Palace. We have eaten there probably 5 times and never been disappointed. The food is wonderful and as already mentioned you get great views of the park through the large windows and the characters are wonderful - perfect for the preschool crowd. I have a 20 month dd who had her first lunch there (that she can remember) last week. She absolutely loved all the characters.

We have been to Chef Mickey's three or four times. The food is good, but not as good as Crystal Palace. It also has a very rushed feeling IMO - not relaxing at all - and we have had to wait long after our meals were done more than once to have all the expected characters come to our table (last week, it was Mickey we were waiting for so there was not an option of leaving if you know what I mean!).

Other than that, we have had breakfast at the restaurant in the Grand Floridian a few times (Park Fair?) with Mary Poppins and friends... That is lovely but honestly for a two year old, you can't beat Pooh and pals at Crystal Palace.

Hope this has been helpful!

We have two boys who will be 2 1/2 & 8 in Oct so the Princess things I dont plan on torturing them with :)
We chose LTT because there is Goofy and my youngest is a HUGE fan.
Also Chef Mickey's because of Mickey and I hear it is a fun time.

Chef Mickey's for breakfast has Mickey, Chip and Dale, Donald, Goofy, Minnie, Pluto
Cape May Buffet breakfast has Goofy, Minnie, Chip and Dale
Crystal Palace of course has Pooh and the Gang

I really like those places for character meals, but there's also 'Ohana for breakfast, Garden Grill lunch and dinner, Donald's Breakfastasaurus. There are plenty of other character meals that don't involve the princesses. Unfortunately there aren't any real boy character meals.

I would really love it if they had a Toy Story meal or a Peter Pan meal or do the heroes meal. I know my DSs would go hog wild if there was a Power Rangers meal.

Chef Mickey's (breakfast was better than dinner, IMHO)

Crystal Palace....breakfast is AWESOME!!!

LTT dinner was GREAT!

have fun!
