hi all, id like to do a character dinner whilst in disney, any one tell me which is best( its for me not the kids) big kid i know.

do you have to book in advance as were going in september. thankyou

booking in advance is not necessary but I would. Are you looking to do princesses, mickey and friends, pooh and friends, lilo and stitch, or Mary Poppins Alice and Mad Hatter, they also have playhouse disney. Do you strictly want dinner or who you be interested in a breakfast or lunch time ressie?

I really enjoyed the food at Liberty Tree Tavern in MK. Also, Chef Mickey's is fun for guests of any age, however not in a park. I have not tried Garden Grill at Epcot though.

I'm a big kid too! and I would recomend the Garden Grill at Epcot, you get a great selection of characters, the revolving dining area is different and the food is fab.

If you can only do one it is Chef Mickeys.. Hands down

I totally agree!!

Here's the toll free # - - 1 800 828-0228.

I'd call a make an ADR if you want to eat at any character meal.
Better to be on the safe side. You can always cancel later.

I prefer CP or Garden Grill. CP for Pooh and friends, Garden Grill has Mickey, Pluto, Chip & Dale.

:) i love minnie mouse and like cinderella (but think i might get some strange looks if i did that one)

could i call that number from the uk?

thanks for your help

We did Chef Mickey and I LOVE character experiences but without our kids, I would pass this one right up...Sorry...It was like a chuck e cheese atmosphere which is great for kids but for adults, I think the CP or Garden Grill would be my vote.

JMO :)

Oh sorry, I have no idea if that toll free number I stated will work from the UK.
(I suppose you could just try it. They're open on Sundays)
Someone here should know if it will work. Anyone?

I could phone day i get there and do it for the week after. wish i could go now.

Liberty Tree Tavern is a good dinner to see Minnie and she will be dressed in her old american clothes, You would not look silly going to see Cinderella. The castle books very quickly so the chances of you waiting till you get there are very very slim. BTW my MIL and her DH will be eating at the Castle when they go I think the best one to do is 1900 Park Fare they have great interaction with Cinderella, Prince Charming, Suzy, and Perla The Fairy Godmother will also be there but she is usually out front of the restaurant for you to take a pic with her before you are seated.

My vote is for 1900 Park Fare.

PS. I sent you a PM

I like Chef Mickeys, but it always seems so rushed for some reason. I almost think the popularity of that restaurant contributes to the "get 'em in, get 'em out" feel. The last time we were there we were apparently at the end of the "line" for the characters, and we wouldn't have even SEEN Goofy if we hadn't requested via our waitress that he visit us -- this was when they were about to close up shop. Mickey came by after Goofy, and i definitely felt rushed during his visit. He seemed like he had places to go. Very disappointing.

My preference, when visiting Mickey, is Donald's breakfastasaurus. We always make an 8 am ressie, and the characters have always seemed "fresh" and energetic. It's a favorite of mine.

If I want to see Cinderella, I visit the dinner buffet at 1900 Park Fare. LOVELY buffet, much higher standard than, say, Crystal Palace, and you get to rub shoulders with Cindy and the Prince!

We have always been happy with the breakfast buffet at Crystal Palace in the MK. I love Pooh and Tigger, so I'm biased! We are hoping to try a lunch or dinner there on our next trip in September. Chef Mickey's is great, especially since we celebrated my 3 yr old's birthday there. But after having dinner there twice in a row now, I'm looking forward to trying something different.
