We are heading to Disney on September 23rd :flower: and would really like to do one character dining with the kids (2 and 5). Which one would be the best for them? I can honestly say, i am not as worried about the food quality as the experience for them. I was thinking of either doing the first night we arrived or the next morning to get them excited. Any opinions would be great!!

Well, I would say it depends their favorite characters, but I highly recommend Chef Mickey's! It's great, and I don't think you can go wrong with the classic characters. We do this on every trip and it's always a highlight. A lot of people have different opinions on the food there, but we like it, and since that's not a worry, I say go there! :sunny:

Chef Mickey's is the best character meal as far as variety of characters and interaction. I suggest breakfast.

If you think they would like Pooh and friends, I highly suggest the Crystal Palace. It's in the park, it's a nice break if you do lunch and it's good food.

I've never traveled with kids before but we've always preferred the character breakfast in Animal Kingdom. This is because we find it to be the park with the least amount of activities and attractions that we are interested in. Also, I like the idea of just Mickey, Donald, Goofy and Pluto there, rather than the other characters offered at the other breakfasts.

I haven't heard of the one at the Crystal Palace. Does anyone have more info on this? My daughter LOVES "Mr. Pooh"!!

Crystal Palace is in Magic Kingdom. Walk down Main Street and then make a left, it is right there. It is a typical breakfast buffet...you will like and so will your child!
We got there for an early seating and the characters came right away. By the time we finished, the park had just opened so we were on our way.

I think it depends on what characters you kids would like.

We really like Liberty Tree Tavern in MK (pre-plated dinner (good food) with Minnie, Goofy, Chip and Dale)

Crystal Palace (buffet (good) Pooh and friends)

Princess breakfast, lunch of dinner in Norway (princesses vary but we've seen Cinderella, Ariel, Sleeping Beauty, Jasmine, Belle, and Mulan there)

Cinderellas castle (breakfast or lunch) - we've seen Cinderella, Fairy GOdmother, Sleeping Beauty, Belle and Snow White there.

All good choices - I'd go for whichever characters your kids like.

We like Chef Mickeys too (buffet - Mickey, Donald, Goofy and Minnie)

We went to 6 different character meals last week and in our opinion, Liberty Tree Tavern (MK), The Crystal Palace (MK) and Garden Grill (Epcot) were the best. The character interaction in the Garden Grill was especially great. We thought Chef Mickey's service was the worst out of any of them, and the food did not seem to be refilled very quickly either. It was also the longest wait we had, even with an ADR. Liberty Tree Tavern seems to be one of the quieter, more relaxing ones. The crystal palace had a nice parade for the kids to join in with Pooh and Tigger, as well as a buffet for those little ones that like to eat quick without waiting too long for their food.

CP @MK is the way to go. . .If you haven't made ressies, I would highly suggest makingthem quick. Since your stay falls within the MYW free dining plan add-on, more poeple than ever are doing sit-down charcter meals so PS is a must!! Good Luck!!

Chef Mickey's and Crystal Palace get my top votes! Just pick the characters you think your children will enjoy more.
