Hi,

My boss and I will be attending a conference at WDW the beginning of October and each of us have decided to extend our stays for a few days.

He is going to fly down his six year old son and wife later in the week for a mini vacation. THis will be his son's first Disney vacation and while he knows the characters, he really does not have a favorite.

Any suggestions for charater dining???

'Ohana has a great character breakfast. It's the Best Friend's Breakfast with Mickey, Pluto, Lilo and Stitch. The food is served family style (all you care to eat) and is wonderful! The character interaction is also great. The kids can participate in a character lead parade through the restaurant like every 15-20 minutes. It's a great breakfast and a family favorite for us.

Another one we really love is at the Garden Grill in Epcot. It is also served family style. This time around the characters are farmer Mickey, Pluto, Chip and Dale. The food is very good and the character interaction here is the best we have ever had. It's also a revolving restaurant which is pretty fun for kids (and adults) to experience. While the restaurant revolves you can see scenes from Living with the Land. Very cool!

Hope this helps! :goodvibes

I agree with both of these. My kids also like Chef Mickey's (we do breakfast).

Definitely 'Ohana or Chef Mickey's. Depends on what characters your son likes. Lilo & Stitch or Mickey and the gang. With 'Ohana you don't have to worry about missing the characters while you are at the buffet. They also have fun activities for kids. Chef Mickey's has a lot more characters though.

Tusker House breakfast at AK is our favorite. Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and Daisy in safari gear ( Donald is out front for pictures only) ...excellent food and excellent location (just a few steps away from the safari).

I have always felt that Disney overlooks little boys. There are so many princess meals now and almost nothing aimed specifically at boys!

'Ohana is a good suggestion, because boys seem to like the Stitch character. I also suggest Crystal Palace. I loved Winnie the Pooh and Tigger as a kid. They are fairly gender-neutral.

The same goes for any meal with Mickey and his gang, including Chef Mickey's and Tusker House. If you're willing to try a character dinner, I also recommend Garden Grill at Epcot. Boys seem to like Chip and Dale, too.

I have a 3 children-DS, DD and tomboy-she's more against a princess meal than DS is.:rotfl:

We all like Crystal Palace for all meals but really enjoy breakfast there.

Characters are great at Garden Grill-my kids love it there but the food is just OK at best.

Cape May is a nice breakfast at Beach Club. My DD tolerates Minnie there because she's in her swim suit. Goofy & Donald are also there in swim wear.

I have been to Tusker House at least 5 times and have never seen Minnie but then I've never seen Donald outside either-I have seen photos of him on the Dis outside but I didn't think Minnie was there.:confused3

Chef Mickey's for Donald and Daisey and Mickey and Minnie and Chip and Dale and Pluto and Goofy!

Crystal Palace for Pooh and friends!

We've never been to Chef Mickey's but I've heard good things about the breakfast. We'll be eating there in 31 days. If you want a non-character breakfast I would suggest Boma at AKL.

Thanks for the replies, some of them I had never thought of like the Garden Grill. I will pass the info along.
