Character Dining Catered To Boys, Why Not???

I'm having a hard time trying to figure out why there is no Character Dinning that caters to boys:confused3

Now don't get me wrong, I have nothing against Princess Dinning, but IMO I think they should have something boys would get into like, Toy Story, POC, Incredibles, Monsters Inc., Star Wars, for examples:confused3

I think Disney is missing the boat on this one, IMO it would be a well sought venue:confused3

Think about it even if you have a DD, how awesome would a Toy Story Character Dinner be:confused3

If nothing else they should give it a shot, the results might surprise them, I'm sure I'm not the only one who thinks the boys are being left out:confused3

Once again I'm not trying to bash anything that caters to the girls (I love the Princesses) but put yourself in a boys eyes:rolleyes1

I agree.

In fact I think it would go over so well that if a Toy Story/Cars/Pirates meal was introduced, it would be one of the hardest places to get a table. Don't you think?

Anything to do with Cars would be a huge hit with my son. I think Disney needs to really enchance the Pixar thing. Put more of it in HS. And not just for boys, plenty of girls like this as well...not to mention adults!

I only have a daughter, but would love to see meals geared more towards boys....I am sure my husband would love a Pixar meal.

I'd love a Pirates meal! That one seems like it would be pretty simple to implement too.

Daughter grew up w/ a brother and too many boy cousins, she's never been a princess type girl. Loves Pixar and loves, loves Pirates of the Carribean so totally agree w/ you Planogirl.

A pirates dinner, even at CBR or SSR, like Hoop Dee Doo, or Mickeys BBQ, or Poly Dinner. There could be a little show, maybe C Hook and Peter Pan could have a duel. A 2 Table Service option even :) .. Dreaming..

TOY STORY TOO!

I was thinking a "heroes dinner/breakfast/lunch" with Buzz, Woody, The Incredibles... you get the idea. It would be AWESOME!!!

We're less than a month away from a trip and my 3 year old DS is talking non-stop about Buzz Lightyear and Lightning McQueen. I would do ANYTHING for a boy character meal or a Toy Story meal. I detest waiting in character lines in the parks, we're a character meal family! And as far as I know, there is no Lightning McQueen anywhere (as there was in California Adventure when we went last year). Haven't figured out how to break that to him yet!:sad2:

One thing I hope that comes out of this thread is, that someone who has some say on the Dis Exc level, sees this thread and considers putting a plan into play to fullfill the need of a dinner that is boy friendly:goodvibes

As PP's stated that some of these idea's would also be idea for adults (POC, Star Wars), and some other's have stated that maybe Pixar is seprate from Disney, it still is no reason that something they solely own can't be put into action:confused3

Since we are the voice, and if Disboarder's keep posting about new Character meals, I'm sure they scout a huge network like the Disboards for idea's, eventually something might happen:confused3

Right now my DS who is 5 (has been to WDW5 times) favorite Disney Character Dinning is 1900 Park Fare Breakfast, he really likes the Mad Hatter:goodvibes, but his all time favorite dinner is T-Rex Cafe (not a Disney Dinner), he has been there 3 times and can't get enough of it. Now with that said I'm sure since T-Rex is on Dis Prop, they should know they are doing extermely well:confused3

I really don't know what they are waiting for, since IMO they could pull it off into a successful venture rather quickly:confused3:goodvibes

I'd love to take DH to a Star Wars meal. :lovestruc

Personally, my ideal would be a Neverland character meal. Seems fairly gender neutral (Peter, Tink, Hook, Wendy).

Sunshine - Lightning McQueen and Mater are at DHS. I'm not sure how long the lines are, though, we don't tend to go that route.

I can't think there would be a way to have a Cars meal. How do the cars come to the table? I think Lightning and Mater do appear in the New York street area though.

I think they're just concentrating on Pixar for the Toy Story ride and the DHS parade and don't see a need to have a meal, too. Not sure how the meal for preschoolers is working out for Disney. If they're filling the restaurant they aren't going to see any need for a change.

Now a Star Wars meal, I'd go to that. Especially if Han Solo shows up.

I wouls LOVE to see a boys theme as well. My DD is too old to care about princess character dinning. She is just fine waiting in lines to meet her favs.

Now my DS.... He is in LOVE with Buzz. Is going to be Buzz for Halloween and want to where the costume when he meets him at Disney. We have 3 character meals planned, 2 Mickey and the gang and one at CP. I would drop Chef Mickey arival day for a Toy Story meal! DS will love to see Mickey but wouldn't be able to sit in his seat from excitement to see Buzz and Woody!

I have a mind to email this suggestion to Disney. Pardon me while I search the website....

We're two and a half months away and by three-year-old boy is the same way. Woody, Buzz, McQueen, Mater ... And, oh yeah, Mickey, Donald and Goofy too.

Not to hijack the thread but I thought there was a Lightening McQueen appearance area at Hollywood Studios. Man, I hope so, or else I'm in BIG trouble.

Is this no longer the case?

As of a few weeks ago, yes you could take a picture w/ Lighning McQueen & Mater (and the best part of them is they don't require breaks!). If I remember correctly, It might have been near the Muppets 3D theater, but I'm not 100% on that. There is also a Pixar character meeting spot across from Toy Story Mania with Buzz and Woody. Lines are probably long all the time, but were insane when we were there because Toy Story Mania was shut down for most of the day - even though this was only 2 days after it re-opened from a rehab/software update.

I would love a pixar theme character meal too. Even a specific Toy Story meal would be great but I would prefer it be more all of pixar characters (the Incredibles, Monsters Inc., Bug's Life, Wall-E). How fun would that be!!

I think a villian character meal would be great too. And if you thought it was going to be too scary for your kids then don't eat there. I am not sure why people would go to a "villian" meal and then be upset and complain because it was too scary. Hello, don't eat there if your kids are going to be scared. Duh! haha!

I completely agree they need one! My twin boys are 4 and they are terrified of completely costumed things (like pooh, oso, etc). But they wouldn't be afraid of princesses because they can see the faces. But I am not using 2 dining credits for each of us to see princesses!! I think woody would be awesome (they could still have Jessie for the sisters) and captain jack sparrow would be HUGE!! the theming of that restaurant could be awesome.

A Pirates-themed meal is such a good idea, they should feel silly that they haven't done something like this. Star Wars, too.

A Toy Story character meal would be packed. Packed. I don't understand why this isn't being done. Makes no sense at all.

Sunshine - Lightning McQueen and Mater are at DHS. I'm not sure how long the lines are, though, we don't tend to go that route.

That's the great thing about Cars - at DHS, we've never waited more than 5 minutes to see McQueen/Mater (and sometimes we just walk right up!) That's in both March and July of this year. We saw them at California Adventure in August - same thing - just walked right up on a Saturday afternoon! As a previous poster mentioned, they don't take breaks, so that helps a lot. Also, very little wait (if any) for Monsters at both DHS and California Adventure.

Lines for Lotso and Woody/Buzz at DHS were longer, but we try to get to the meet-and-greet spot about 10 minutes before the first appearance time. We've had the most luck with that strategy.

If anyone is looking for DHS character greeting info, Steve Soares' website is great - he updates weekly: http://pages.prodigy.net/stevesoares/index.htm. We always pick up a times guide at the park to double-check, but SS has always been accurate.

Yes - I agree as well that there should be a Toy Story or some sort of more boy themed character meal!! Especially since we have a little boy on the way!!

Ditto! Hollywood & Vine should switch over to Pixar characters. DD knew who Woody was before we got into Little Einsteins, and still has only seen Handy Manny in the Playhouse DIsney show at DHS. (We don't have the Disney channel.)

I think CBR would be a great location for a pirate meal. Shutters, the TS restaurant there, is awful. They should shut that down, and reopen it with Captain Jack and some other pirates. They could serve like a family style seafood platter. Brilliant! Why aren't we in charge of these things?

My DS 8 would like a Toy Story character meal but what he would LOVE is a Phineas and Ferb- especially if they had Perry at it.:thumbsup2

That would be cool something more for boys, after a certain age Mickey just aint exciting to them I guess. Toy Story would be neat!
