How early do the early diners go?

First seating has their character breakfast at 8 am.

Second seating has their character breakfast at 9:30 am.

Thats doable - not as bad as disembarkation
It would give the early diners time to grab those deck chairs while the late diners are at their breakfast

No, it's available only on the 7-night cruises.

about "grabbing a deck chair" in our three cruises we have always been able to locate one (sometimes on the deck above the pool) and never had to rush from breakfast to stake out a chair.
