Where is the best place to go for this. My niece would love this and I would love to plan one for her. If you could give me suggestions for all parks/hotels that would be great. Thanks

Our favorite is CP in MK. Although we love Donald's Breakfastosaurus too, now that it's changing, I don't know how great it will be anymore.

In my opinion...Crystal Palace has far and away the best food, but Chef MIckey's has the FAB FIVE and the monorail overhead.

Chef Mickey's in the Contemporary. It is actually now a tradition of my family to go here for breakfast once every trip. The buffet is awesome and the breakfast is a lot of fun.

the ohana breakfast has great food (IMHO) and the character interaction was GREAT-my DD9 also loved the dance around the restaurant w/ the maracas, lol. if you want princesses, the princess lunch at norway was great and i'm sure the breakfast would be no different, aside from the food.

The Crystal Palace in the Magic Kingdom is our family tradition. My son (who is 15) said he didn't care where we ate during our trip as long as he got his Pooh waffles at least once!

You don't say how old she is, but here goes:

There is a wonderful "family style" Princess breakfast in Norway (Epcot). They serve traditional American breakfast fare and its really enjoyable. One princess greets you as you enter & you pose for pictures. The two times we've been it was Ariel & Belle. The rest of the princesses rotate around to your tables. The only thing I don't like there is that Mulan & Alice are not princesses!! :rotfl: Now, my daughter still loves to meet them, but the breakfast should be called something else.

The Grand Floridian has an incredily large & impressive breakfast buffet that is pretty good. The setting is beautiful. It's usually Mary Poppins, Alice in Wonderland & Pooh. There are other accompanying characters like TIgger & the Mad Hatter.

The Crystal Palace I can't speak to personally. This September will be our first time to experience that. I've heard nothing but GREAT things about it and we're all really looking forward to it.

I think the thing my daughter loves the most about character breakfasts where they're "people" and not the "fuzzies" (her words, not mine) is that they can speak to you. My daughter always asks questions about the movie or character & never once have they failed to answer her. Its just wonderful!

We have booked one breakfast at CP and one at breakfastasauras... it will be our first Character meals.. we also booked Princess Story book at Akershus as well for dinner. DD is so excited to eat with the characters.. (don't know why we didn't do this before. what were we thinking????)..

First time onsite (DDP also).. leaving in 4 days YEA!!!!

I would recommend 1900 Park Fare but unfortunately it'll be closed when you're there (us too :confused3 ) We'll be doing the princesses for lunch this year in Norway ( we've done all 3 meals and each one is good) and for the first time 'Ohanas for breakfast. Other than PF and PSB, we haven't done any other character breakfasts yet.

So, I guess I would recommend PSB in Norway.

We always do Crystal Palace on our first morning (if there's early morning EMH, then we try to make our ADR for 9:30-- after we've finished EMH), or if there's no EMH then we make an ADR for before the park opens. We like Chef Mickey's too, but CP is more convenient since it's in the park (and the food is better IMO).

Everyone will have their favorite. Personally, we love the Cape May Cafe breakfast. It's extremely laid back with very good character interaction. We also feel that it's one of the best buffets on property.

:surfweb:

We've done Crystal Palace in Magic Kingdom (buffet style), the Princess Brkfst in Norway at EPCOT (Family Style), and Lilo & Stitch at Ohana (Polynesian Resort; Family Style). Ooooh, nice to see the Cape May Cafe CB gets a big thumbs up, too, though we haven't been yet. We've had resv's for Mickey and Friends at the Contemporary twice, but had to cancel each time - so we're doing that one next time around FOR SURE... All the classic characters in one place -- just GOTTA!!!

Each of them is a different experience for sure. As for the food quality, we lean towards Ohana or the Princess Char Brkfst. And it's nice to be able to stay comfortable at the table b/c food is delivered. *special requests or any dietary restrictions are always handled well*

For selection, the Crystal Palace buffet in MK wins hands down; and their omellete station is great (but they used a salted oil that ruined my omellete for me. :sad2: I had to reorder, telling them to please go with plain oil; which wasted a good 30 minutes b/c the lines get LONG once the place is full :crowded: ).

For the "magic" aspect... I really can't conjure any better sight than Main Street USA in the early morning light, with Cinderella's Castle looking magnificent, before the park is open :cloud9: (which is why we always book CP in MK for an early, early seating). Only bummer is that we hang-out so long the park is hopping when we leave. But that's a small price to pay for so much magic!! :wizard:

If doing a long trip, booking Char Brkfsts on Non-Park days in one of the Resorts is a great time to do them and a whole lot of fun!! :yay: :yay:

Besides the characters and the food...
Then there's taking pictures
The view through all the walls of windows at Ohana can't be beat, but be carefull to take any pics aiming in, towards the dining room, so the pics don't get totally washed out from daylight backlighting. The Norway dining room was difficult for good pics (very dim, which makes the flash bright and kills background). For picture quality, Crystal Palace is the overall winner - you may not even need a flash at all, but if you use one, it's bright enough in there to not have the flash washout the whole background scenery. :thumbsup2

That's it from my little magic notebook. And I agree with MisMikiNikiLynne - Life's too short! Do more than one if you can swing it... Every time is a fun time! :flower3:

We went to Donald's Breakfastasaurus in May of '05 and everybody loved it (me, DH, 2 kids and my parents). There were tons of different foods to choose from and plenty of it. Mickey, Goofy, Donald, and Pluto were there and they made plenty of time for each table...lots of photo ops. My sister did the princess one in Norway and they raved about that one too.
Have fun!

Ohana was great. Delicious food and the characters were so friendly. DS brought a pic he had drawn for Mickey. Mickey lifted him up and hugged him, then wrote a long message in his autograph book, about wanting ds to become an animator. The Poly is a beautiful location, too.

CP was really nice. food was great.. characters were great.. We booked the Grand Floridian Cafe last minute as we realized we were going to have one tableservice credit left each.. Had late lunch there with Pooh, Tigger, Alice, Mad Hatter and Mary Poppins. This was probably our best breakfast. Adult meal my DW and I had was the stuffed French toast drizzled with chocolate.. It was AWESOME... I wish i had taken pictures.. (sorrry follks)..

I would definitely make this one if you can..

We just got back the other night and while we were there did the Chef Mickey's character breakfast. It was fantastic. The buffet was HUGE and the food was delicious. The fab five were there and we got pics with every one of them (had to wait around a little while after we were done eating to see the last couple characters...but it was worth it).
