Character Breakfast Update - Alaska

i was surprised there was no character breakfast on our 7 night Norway cruise last month on the magic. We've sailed DCL/Magic twice before in the Med and both times there were characters breakfasts...

Posting from Iceland on free wifi and we are sailing the Magic. Ours was also a ticketed event from Port Adventures on embarkation day and when I asked I was advised they have it when there are at least three sea days.

There was no character breakfast on our Med cruise in 2013 as we only had two sea days. I look forward to it on the Alasakan cruise this August! :flower:

Hope there will be some first-hand updates from the June 29 Alaskan cruisers on the ticketed character breakfasts.

Did you get to pick the date and time you want? Were they offered on the second sea day? They used to be offered on both sea days and Tracy Arm Day (plus morning of Ketchikan Day). I wonder whether DCL cuts down their offerings now. TIA :flower:

Wait! Don't thank me yet. I stand corrected now that I'm looking at the pictures with the correct dates, we did ours on the first full day, Sea Day number 1 not the Tracy Arm Day. Still was a great day to do it.

Uh oh! I have Palo brunch booked on the first sea day. What time did you board and get your tickets? I will try to get that later than your time on embarkation day then. Do they let you stay in line until you get the time and date you want? TIA!

Our boarding time was 12:30. I got right inline for the tickets when we got on the ship, which was probably closer to 1. Since your Palo brunch is in the system, they should give you a different day for your Character Breakfast. They asked if the times for things I got worked so I believe they will change things if needed.

We were on the June 29 cruise and when we boarded at 1 the line for Port Adventures was really long so we went back around 3ish and they took our excursions and spa appts into consideration. We had character meal at 9 am on Tracy Arm day, Olaf same day at noon and Anna/Elsa at 9 am last sea day. I went back again before late dinner to try and switch our Anna Elsa time and all the times were taken. People behind us were trying to book a character bfast and were also told the breakfast times were all booked up. So be sure and get in line and schedule that afternoon if it is important to you.
Characters were dressed in their cruise wear captain Mickey etc. Olaf was adorable!

Thanks for the details and I am glad that they are trying to work with the guests' schedules.

We were on the June 29 sailing and had our character breakfast on the first sea day. Both my sister and I tried to change the time for our Pixar tickets. She tried as soon as they were printed because she thought they were on the same day as the character breakfast and only an hour and a half apart. She was told they couldn't change them. I later realized that Pixar conflicted with our Juneau excursion and tried to change the tickets, but was told there were no more tickets left. I went around 10 pm the first night. But toward the end of the cruise I was at guest services one night and saw them giving a family a ticket for Olaf, who we had seen a few days before, so I don't think it hurts to try and ask.

The girls helping me were actually looking at my schedule- but only what I had booked thru Disney as far as excursions and spa appts. And I agree to check back for openings. My girls decided the day before not to get up for Anna Elsa last day at sea cause they had plans in their clubs till 1 AM so I called down the day before and cancelled hoping someone might use them.

Pixar tickets? I didn't know that was a possibility. Who do you meet?

We're on the 24th August sailing, when we board I want to get Anna and elsa meet and greet tickets and now the character breakfast, have they both been available at the port adventures desk or are they at separate locations? Would be easier to do at the same time to ensure no clashes
Also are all the available meet tickets printed on the first navigator, I hadn't noticed it on the one I saw from the June 1st sailing

Tickets are required for each of these meet and greets only.

Thanks for the info! I prefer Pixar friends to Disney Juniors. I wonder who are at the meet and greet. Hope to meet Remy!

We got on board at about 12:30 and headed straight to the port adventures desk. The line was pretty long, but we figured it was worth it to get it out of the way and not have to worry about it again. We had plenty of time to go to lunch in Parrot Cay after getting our tickets, and then our cabin was ready when we were done. We were fine with all of the times we were given (all on the first sea day), but definitely got the impression you could request other times if available. The only ticketed characters we missed were Pixar friends- they were only available while in port in Juneau. They all seemed to be available independently at other times, though, including Remy!

Our Pixar Party had 3 sets of characters. Woody and Jessie, Mike and Sully (not sure if that's their names, but the blue guy and eyeball from Monsters, Inc). Without looking at my pictures, I can't remember if the 3rd set was from Up or Ratatouille bc at that point my little one go out scared so I was busy comforting her. I want to say it's the Russell and Dug from Up. But if you can't get tickets the characters are out for the dance party later and I know several of them have appearances later on in the week.
