We have reservations for 8 AM for Tusker House Aug 15. It is also the Early Morning Entry for Animal Kingdom. Should we just grab a snack and just try to beat the crowds? This is not our only character breakfast. Any advice would be appreciated.

I would say go and eat and enjoy your meal, then go and have fun in the park!!

We did the breakfast at Tusker House yesterday morning and its a definate recommendation from me. We thoroughly enjoyed it so I'd say also enjoy your breakfast and then go enjoy the park! :thumbsup2

Any chance of changing to a late breakfast?? Do a couple rides, grab a few fast passes, then have breakfast?????

I would have breakfast 1st and then enjoy the park, i find Ak easy to do in one day anyway ;)

I would go to the breakfast, but I would try and get Fastpasses for Everest before eating if the Fastpass is open.

Make sure you are there WELL BEFORE 8:00 am, or you will not be seated until after park is officially opened. We always have issues with Tusker House breakfast when our ADRs are between 8:25-8:55 am, when park opens at 9:00 am, as the park won't let guests past the Tree of Life due to the show that takes place in front (safety reasons with truck in place). We have dealt with this with at least 5 supervisors over the past 2 trips.

We just experienced this again, for 2nd time in a row last week. Restaurant manager admitted to me that this is very difficult for them as for about 25-30 mins, before park opening, they can't get guests into the restaurant for those ADRs, which then stacks all of the other people and they fall very behind for the rest of the morning. It doesn't matter if you speak to the restaurant CM who is stationed at front of park either, as park CMs control the entrances. The park CMs are in control of who gets in - restaurant knows this, but their hands are tied, so she suggested getting to the park at least 25 mins before ADRs for the morning. This isn't doable for us, and might not be for many people - AK parking is also very congested at that time as well, so there are always delays here as well.

I don't want to debate this with anyone - it has happened to us 2x now, so if we go again (it's not that great of a character meal, to be honest - characters are very rushed, and the food is not that good - much improved over old breakfast though, as that was horrid), we won't take any ADRs before 9:30 am, if park opens at 9:00 am, so as to avoid the whole opening park situation.

Good luck - you need to get there early in order to get into the restaurant on time.

Happy eating, Tiger :)

I loved Tusker House breakfast, but in your scenario, I would strongly suggest not to do it! By the time you are done eating the park will be crowded! The whole purpose of being there early to be ahead of the crowds will not work out due to EMH. If possible, I would try to get a later ADR for the same day, arrive at 8 for EMH then have a nice breakfast at 10:30 or so.

I agree. I would get to the park as early as possible, and try to hit the big attractions before it starts to get crowded. Eating breakfast at 8am would be wasting time during the slowest part of the day, imo.

We had this experience a few weeks ago...We made our ADR for 9:15....We arrived at the park around 7:45 for 8:00 hours...The park was already open...We headed straight for the safari...We did the safari then the trail next to it...DH went to get EE FastPass....We were done with safari and trail around 9:00...Went to check in to eat...Seated by 9:15...We were out by 10:00...

This worked very well for us....We got to see the animals early in the AM when they were active...Walked right on...Got to enjoy the trail without the crowds and got a good time for EE...

Can you make the ADR for a later time? Between 9:00-10:00... If not...I would still go to the breakfast...But I agree with a pp, get there well before 8:00 if you have an ADR at 8:00.

I want to thank everyone for their advice. I have taken all information into consideration. I am thinking we might just eat later on in the day.
