Will the chracters hold a baby for a photo if we wanted to just get one of the baby. If so will the face and full custome characters do it?

TIA

I don't think so. And I saw confirmation of this at Crystal Palace last week. A family sitting at a table next to me tried to hand their small child (maybe 1??) up to the character and they shook their head no. I told them I didn't think they could hold him, but they kept shoving him at the character. Because they were handing him UP and leaning forward reaching out, the kid almost fell to the ground.

Sorry but no characters are able to hold babies.
The best you can do is to see if the character would possibly kneel on the floor and sit the child on the floor in front of them.

Absolutely not.. not safe for your child, not safe for the character.

As a PP said, if your child can sit, you can sit your child down in front of the characters while they kneel. Just make sure your kids are wearing shoes :)

Our "baby" was 20 months when we went, and no, the characters wouldn't hold him. They were all very accommodating to get down to his level for pictures, though. Anastasia seemed particularly drawn to him and loved on him a long, long time.

The closest any characters came to holding either one of the kids was when we met Donald at AK. He was squatted down and both kids kinda sat on what little lap he has. :-)

They got down to DD's level. Minnie and Mickey had her sit on a little box and posed with her. I think as long as the baby can sit up you will be fine.

Thanks, I didnt think it would happen but I never paid attention as our oldest was old enough on his first trip not to be held but the new one will only be 4 months at the time. Good to know.

This is something that has definitely changed over the years. We have pictures from a trip where my niece had just turned 3. (She is now almost 18) There is one in The Land of Rafiki holding her - he is standing up and holding her, not kneeling or anything like that. I was looking at the photos from the trip recently and was so surprised to see it as I had totally forgotten.

All CMs are absolutely prohibited from touching a Guest, even if the Guest so requests.

Heres my experience May 2011 with our 9 month old DD at the time

Uh-oh. Looks like Belle and Cindy are heading back to their respective dungeons.

I'm assuming this is a joke?:confused3
Handshakes, high fives, hugs, knuckle bumps, hand holding, holding a baby while the character is seated or squatting are all permitted in my experience. Never seen a character hold a child while they are standing...

Very innaccurate.
When helping guests with disabilities enter a jungle cruise boat, as soon as they request help we are allowed to assist them. However, we are not allowed to carry them.

HOWEVER [again] there have been multiple instances where I've ended up picking up a child by hooking my arms under their armpits/shoulders because they were about to fall into to water between the boat and the dock. Because it is for the guests safety, the action is allowable.

In general, CM's cannot carry children or other guests for 'fun' like picture taking or other interactions. But if it is safety critical, then by all means pick up that kid!!

Then there are other physical contacts a CM normally receives. Hugs and highfives.

Huh? Almost every character CM I've ever taken pictures with has opened their arms to me for a hug without me initiating it in any way other than approaching them. I know I'm super cuddly and huggable and all, but not so much so that a CM would risk losing their job over!

Scorcer Mickey held our Solomon in 2010. He was 6 months old and was not sitting on his own.

In fact, SM tried to not give him back to me. Mickey was in LOVE :lovestruc with our Soli!

We've had the princesses hold all our babies at one time or another. I have never asked; they have usually offered, but it is always sitting down. I don't know that I would hand my baby over to Mickey though.

We were eating at CP three weeks ago, and tigger came to our table, scooped up our three year old and bounced off with him. It was so funny to watch! I don't know what the official rules are, bit there does seem to be some flexibility. I can also see the danger/liability issue regarding infants.

There really isnt any flexibility. It's not allowed. But that's not to say you won't see it from time to time.

When my 5 yo met Goofy his favorite character he ran up to him and Goofy grabbed him in a big hug and lifted him off the ground and swung back and forth.
