Char. Breakfast before MK

I want to make reservations at 1900 Park Fare for breakfast and be at Magic Kingdom for the rope drop. My question is what time do the Disney Buses start in the morning?? If the park opens at 9 what time should I make ADR's for?

The buses start two hours before the parks open. But if you are traveling from GF to MK you would take the monorail, which usually starts around 7:00. I think the first breakfast seating at 1900 is 8:00. If that is the case, you won't make it to MK by rope drop.

We are Traveling from Port Orleans FQ. So we would need to take the bus to MK and hop the monarail to Grand Floridian? I think I might have read somewhere the that in the morning there are certain buses for Character Breakfast?

There are no special buses that I'm aware of, but you are correct about taking the bus from POFQ to MK then monorail to GF.

I could be mistaken, but I think the buses you are referring to are Park buses for Character Breakfasts in the parks. That's why they start so early--so you can get to a park for your ADR on time. But in situation those are the buses you want anyway, to take you to the MK early so you can catch that monorail to the Grand Floridian.

When I made my 8:05 reservation at Crystal Palace the CM told me the busses start at 7am and they are marked CHARACTER BREAKFAST....she told me to ask the bus driver if the bus is going to MK.....hope this helps

I can't recall ever seeing a "Character Breakfast" bus before. Last fall we had an early ADR at Epcot for PSB and we just took the first Epcot bus that came along.

I'm not trying to discount what the CM told you, but were they saying that a special MK bus would be also marked character breakfast? I hadn't heard of that before.

Maybe it's a bus full of people like my friend Kris, now she's a real character

Do they check that you have reservations at the restaurants?? Say we wanted to get to the tinkerbell store to wake her up (if they still do that), will we be able to get into the park earlier than opening and wait at the store by saying we have breakfast reservations at the crystal palace?? Not that I would do that!! Doubt I'd get up earlier enough to have breakfast at the hotel, and go to the park early, but just a thought!!

From what the CM told me when I made the reservations and other posts on the Disboard...there are CM's at the entrance that will verify your name with a ADR in the park...no reservation no entrance

That is true. Last fall when we did PSB at Epcot, our ADR was really early, one of the first that morning. There was a sign directing guests to the line for Character Breakfast guests. They checked our name off the list (we were told to bring our confirmation number with us as well) and we were allowed in. A lady behind me had an ADR at 9:30 and asked to get in. They told her she had to wait because her ADR was after park opening, so therefore she needed to wait until opening to enter. They really don't seem to want lots of people milling around before they are supposed to be inside. Makes sense to me.

The character bus for the magic kingdom starts running at 6:45 am because of the early 7:30 am seatings at Chef Mickeys. We caught the MK bus at 7:00 am last year for a 8:00 ADR at Chef Mickeys!

PS - If you catch the bus and your the only one the driver will sometimes drop you at the resort hotels if you ask. Our early bus last year had 10 people and all going to Chef Mickeys so the driver just dropped us at the Contemporary instead of us having to go all the way to the MK and back track!
