Chapped lips..... very chapped... better than Blistex?

Aquaphor - it's made by Eucerin and can be found at the drug store near the creams and lotions. Our pediatrician recommended it.

It works wonders for chapped and dry skin, including lips. It is a thick ointment, and I use it on my daughter, Emily. Her lips get very chapped in the winter, and she picks them, which makes them bleed. I put it on her at night (when she is asleep, because she doesn't like it), and her lips are 100% improved by morning. When they get really bad, they are usually fully-healed within three days.

I totally agree; aquaphor is the very best product on the market for chapped lips. I took a drug called accutane to cure acne several years ago. The drug caused terribly dry lips and I tried everything. Aquaphor was the only thing that helped. Since it comes in a large tube, I buy a blistex container, empty the blistex out, and put aquaphor in its place. I really recommend this stuff strongly. You won't be disappointed! Go out and get some and then let us know how well it worked!

Lately, I have been putting on Neosporin before I go to bed. This has been helping tremendously. I also use the Aquaphor.

Please don't put Bag Balm on your lips. Anything that stains clothes yellow, I don't want anywhere near my lips...it is great for super-dry hands. It does smell completely terrible though. Use gloves.

For lips, Aquaphor. DD (4) won't go to bed without it.

The pharmacist recommended A & D ointment for DS. His lips had been so chapped for weeks and he kept picking at them. We had used Blistex, Neosporin lip treatment, chapstick.....By the end of one day with the ointment (yes the diaper rash cream), they were healed.

You guys are all missing out. MAC Cosmetics has a Lip Conditioner Hydrant that is in a little pot just like Carmex and it beats every item you all have listed IMHO.

My entire family uses it, it looks and smells a lot like Carmex, but where IMHO Carmex does not really heal it just moistens, this stuff heals overnight.

My DD gets the ring around her lips from licking them and I put this on at night and her skin is healed up and no longer red by morning. It is $7-8, I don't know for sure I don't care it is worth whatever it costs.

I live in a very dry climate and chapped lips are very common, everyone I know has left Carmex, Blistex, Aquasomething, Neosporin, Chapstick..... etc for the MAC lip "stuff" as my kids call it. You can also buy it tinted if you want to add a little color. I just use a lip liner pencil and then put the Lip Conditioner over it.

BTW - I get the product that is yellow, the white product has sun screen and I have never used it so I cannot say it works as well.

Also, around here the only place we put BagBalm is on our feet - Moooo

I've been told that Blistex is actually bad for you because it's addictive. Your lips will always be dry as long as you are dependent on the medicated stuff.

My dermatologist told me that the best option for dry lips is plain old vaseline. You can find it in tubes in the lip treatment section so that it's not so messy.
