Please guys, I really need help with this. My family & I are planning a trip to be at WDW Jan1-6th. The new packages and lower prices seem to start on Jan 2nd.

I know I can make two reservations, but the price difference is tremendous! (I haven't call CRO yet, I was looking on the DIS information pages.) According to that, the holiday rate at Poly for a lagoon view room is over $500. At non-peak time it is nearly $200 less.

I guess we would have to buy a one day ticket for Jan 1. We were planning on spending all day in EPCOT anyway. My first thought was staying at BC, or BW or somewhere near EPCOT, then moving on Jan 2. But my hubby doesn't like changing resorts and will consider it too much of a hassle.

So I want to know: if I book a parking lot view room at Poly for Jan 1 and a lagoon view for Jan 2-6, how much trouble will it be to move?

Can I pack things up and they will move it for me? Will I have to go down to the check-in/out desk and take care of things (I can do that, no problem - before the kids even get up). My hope is that you will tell me that I can take care of it at the front desk, go carelessly off to the parks and come back that night and everything of ours be in the new room. :smooth:

We changed rooms at the CBR one year. The bellman came for all our stuff before we headed to the parks but they did not deliver it to our new room. We had to check in again and then call for our stuff to be sent up. Not a major pain though and seems well worth the extra time for the savings you mention.

This seems to be hit or misss. When I had trouble with a room and had to make a change, it did not go smoothly at all. When we finally got it rectified the CM that fixed the problem did so with little trouble and explained that the other CMs that had tried to fix the problem could have done so easily had they known what they were doing. I suppose it depends on the CM handling your situation.

DH and I also changed rooms once at CBR. We were staying in a King room for the first 7 days and had someone come up and stay with us for the last 2 days. We just moved down a couple of doors, DH did have to go to the front desk, but it went very smoothly. No big deal, although we hated to give up that King room, corner views, LOL!

Value Season starts for check-ins on January 1st. So, unless you're planning to arrive on the 31st and need a room for NYE, you'll already be in value season on the first. I just made my reservations for 3 different resorts this afternoon, taking advantage of lower rates to move from Pop Century to Wilderness Lodge on January 1st.

to change rooms between resorts! Hello, we just got back from a 9 day/8 night vacation.... first 5 days were at the Swan. Then switched to BWV for 2 nights. Finallly, over to WL for 2 nights. All you do is pack up your luggage. Call Bell Service and tell them you are moving to another hotel. They will bring a form with them to collect your luggage. You get a copy and walk out the door to the parks. Instead of coming back to your old hotel, you come back in the afternoon to your new hotel. When you call bell services (after 3 PM) they will deliver your luggage to your room. Voila! It was very easy. Even my DH was amazed...

Have fun!

All this is so very helpful, but Cindy Ann your news has made my day!!!

I guess it is written wrong on some of these websites, because they indicate the prices drop for Jan 2nd check in. But you've talked to the actual folks and this is great!

Thanks for taking the time to post and let me know!
