Hi all... we're looking at renting some points for an October visit. Initially we were looking at staying at OKW, but with AKV opening we're not so sure. At this point, we'd really like to get two studios at AKV, but with the limited availability we're afraid we won't get anything. SO my question is, can we go ahead and get the OKW 2 bedroom and change over to the two studios later if availability is there? The point totals are the same as far as I can tell.

Also, if that is possible, can the point renter check on availability, or does it need to be the DVC owner? Will it end up being too much of a pain on everyone involved? We don't mind OKW but AKV just looks so cool!!

Thanks!!

Shane

You can do that as long as you're committed to taking the OKW units if the others are not available even if you feel the renter doesn't put enough effort into the change over. Your best bet would be to find someone who has bought AKV and has OKW.

Non-members cannot check on availability or on the reservation after it's been made. Only the member can call Member Services.

You may want to wait for the AKV to be built before you try to get a reservation there. The new AKV aren't scheduled to be open for quite a while. Only the renovated rooms at AKL will be available.
