Changing hotels

We are planning a trip for June of 2002 We would like to stay the whole 7 nights at AKL but we cannot justify the expense as we do not stay in the rooms long, we take off early and get back late usually. How much trouble is it to move from one resort to another. Will Disney do the moving of the luggage or do we have to? We love Port Orleans and were thinking of staying there the first 5 nights and the last 2 at AKL. Any suggestions or advice will be appeciated.

Last year in order to afford our 16 day trip to the Orlando area, we split our vacation between 3 resorts. The first week we stayed offsite (GREAT rate found on these boards!). Then moved to the Grosvenor Resort across from DD (LOVED being able to walk to DD each night) for 4 nights, and finished our trip with 3 nights in DL (enjoyed the boat ride to DD). We rented a car and moved ourselves, but would highly recommend staying in different resorts on the same trip. We took advantage of the different amenities offered at each hotel. By using tips found on these boards we were able to squeeze over two weeks out of the same money that we originally had booked a one week vacation!

If both the hotel you check out of and check in to are Disney hotels, they will moved your luggage. There are several threads on this topic on the Disney Resorts Boards. Hope this helps.
