Changing a reservation at Disney Hotel

Hi Everyone,

I would like your opinion on how to change a reservation at a Disney resort hotel if a better rate shows up.

Right now, I have a reservation at Port Orleans for September 26 to October 8. I received a CAA discount so I am paying about US$106 per night.

If Disney launches a Canadian dollar-at-par promotion, or a better discount (i.e. US$94 per night), should I cancel my reservation and then book another one with the new rate, or can I apply the new rate to my present reservation?

I am a bit skiddish in canceling my reservation since you are never sure of getting another one back.

Welcome to the boards, Chris!

Never cancel a reservation until you have something else in place. Generally, CRO can apply a new rate to an existing reservation so you don't have to cancel. If for some reason the CRO CM is unable to do that, book a room at the new rate, then (and only then) cancel the old one and have the deposit from the old ressie applied to the new.

If you booked through a travel agent, you must change your reservation through the travel agent. It can be quite a hastle.
