Changes to Garden Grill and LTT

Try LeCellier for lunch. No characters but terrific food. My DD8 loves it there. Great steaks! It is very much like eating in a dungeon or an old castle or something. The cheddar soup is a kid favorite and the pretzel stick bread is Fab. Try dunking the pretzel bread in the soup:) YUMMY

LTT is our first night meal every trip - we love the characters and the food (I am a sucker for comfort food). Am disappointed that the characters won't be there anymore starting 2009 but we will likely still go. Will just have to figure out a new way to get my daughters picture with Goofy as it is how I track her growth each year:)

As far as I know, this is just a rumor at this point. It's being discussed heavily over on the Rumors forum.

I just called to change my GG lunch ADR for Nov 18. I ended up having to go somewhere else because they only had a few times left and they were just too late to eat dinner for us.

The CM told me they knew about this last week. I asked her if they were going to be contacting people to let them know they were doing away with lunch and she said she didn't think so. (of course this is just what this CM is saying) She said that all ADRs for lunch for GG would just be wiped out soon.

Then she said not to worry because even if you didn't know your lunch time was gone, you still would get to use your TS credit somewhere else.

My guess is Disney may call a few people, but will have a table set up with a manager giving out ADRs for other TS at Epcot, and working out other arrangements. That's what they did with Teppan Edo last fall.

It is posted as news now on the front page of AllEars. I am upset, this was one of DH's only requests for our next trip in late January, we like the combination of the ambience and characters. The food definitely to us is not worth it alone. :sad1:

I am really bummed about this. I hope it is just a rumor and will not actually happen. While the food is good, it is the character interaction that makes this place. I will not be spending $25+ for stoffer's mac and cheese.

Isn't GG listed as a Tier One place for the Candlelight Processional as a lunch option?

I just called about my 12/10 Garden Grill CP package, which is @ 4:10 for the 6:45 show. The CM said it is not affected by this since it is a CP package (and it is technically a dinner ressie).

I agree - LTT is one of the most quiet Character dinners that we've been to. Not to mention - the last time we were there they were extremely busy and we got to see each character twice!

Really still hoping its a rumor that's NOT going to come true

LTT will no longer have character dinners after 1/5/09.

We LOVE the LTT lunch food, but honestly did not care for the dinner. I do think they'd be better off serving their delicious meals off the menu. It's a must-do for us every trip (lunch).

Oh no....this is a supper spot for us every trip. I hope they'll still be serving the same menu though, we would still go even without characters.

Sorry for all who are upset, but I am kind of happy about this. :)

 Hugs to all who are upset about this change.

Funny - we were there a couple weeks ago and it seemed that they have phased out the characters already:lmao: :lmao:

We were just about done w/ our meal and hadn't seen one friend yet. I asked the server several times about it and he said "they're making their way around"

Food was great - characters, not so much

Are they keeping the awful TV Dinner menu for the evening then? Or are they upgrading to something tasty. Because, really, the characters are the main draw here, unless you are over 80 years old, under 5 years old or have no taste buds.

Thank you - I needed that laugh today!
