Changes to Garden Grill and LTT

OK the way I read this is LTT will have no characters meals at all?? If so what a bummer. We have for years made dinner ADR's there during MVMCP because of the characters. Please say this is not so..smjj

Garden Grill at Epcot. They're removing characters from lunch beginning October 5! They've yet to contact people with existing ADR's.

When I called today to ask about my Garden Grill ADR for November, I was told that they are doing away with lunch. I was told they aren't serving lunch any more after Oct. 5.

About LTT, this is sad for my family! We have had my dd's bday dinner there for the past 4 years and this Dec will be the 5th! I'm sad! I find the dining in MK terrible for choice and always hard to get if you do not book your 180 days out! If the food improves it might be something but as it is now, dining in the MK is not so great. I'll be very interested to see how the whole dining situation changes now..

This is so depressing. LTT is one of our all-time favorite WDW restaurants, tied with CM and CRT. I could cry!!!!!! I think this is such a crazy decision. The place is always packed! Disney will be getting a letter from me on this issue. I hope we can make a difference!!!

Count me as someone who is glad about LTT. The lunch reviews are always better in terms of food. Now, we do have an ADR here before MNSSHP so it will be fun to try once. MK definitely needs some more TS options.

I'm sure that's probably right. The CM I spoke with was just addressing the character issue. She really didn't clarify whether or not there would still be lunch.

When I called about LTT just a little while ago, the CM I spoke with was very nice. It was a lengthy call and I did chit chat with the CM quite a bit. She did say that it had not been confirmed but she had been told that they may reinstate LTT as a character dining location, but with TOY STORY characters, specifically from WOODY's ROUNDUP!: I was shocked! I know several of us have been waiting for something like this for a few years now. And, it would make sense with the Golden Horseshoe being so close. BUT, who knows , could just be another CM rumor. You know how they like to start those!

Oh, that's a great idea!!

I just love the characater meals that are served family style. The hectic buffets are just not so enjoyable.

I have read that the Character Meal will be discontinued, but I thought it was a very popular one. Does anyone know DISNEY's reasoningbehind this ?????

It's a mystery to me too. Without the characters I'm not sure it would fill up. The food alone isn't worth the cost in my opinion.

so...i called dining yesterday after the distressing news and was told that my December ADR for Garden Grill would be honored. I didn't cancel it but was wary and called right back and got another CM who told me that absolutely positively if I showed up to my Garden Grill ressie in December, I would not have be eating.....so I cancelled. However, I did book LTT for dinner so that I could do it one last time up right with the gang!

Maybe they are going to change the menu to more like their lunch menu which I've heard is pretty good for a park restaurant. Personally we didn't like LTT dinner.

Where did you read this? I would like some more info as we are scheduled there before MNSSHP in Oct. Don't know if we'll keep the ressie if the characters are not there.

I know it is mentioned on Allears.net as well as several threads here. I believe it takes effect in January of 2009.
