I just got off the phone with Disney dining and the CM told me that the policy is 180 days out period. I questioned him about it, asked him about how onsite people can call 180 days from arrival and book entire trip of ADR's. He said that he couldn't do that.
Is it just a case of a misinformed CM?

He is wrong. Call back again.

Also, you may not be able to book your entire stay depending on the length of your trip as the maximum is 10 days.

I figured he was wrong, but I didn't want to stay on the line arguing with him. It's irritating when you have to hang on the line and wait, only to have to call back due to ignorance.

It's 180+10 for onsite guests only.

Frankly, I've never known that to be much of a benefit because they don't put the full inventory in that "+10" portion. In fact, I don't think they make much available at all for the +10 bookings.

If you try to book something within 10 days of your arrival and they tell you they don't have any availability, just call back exactly 180 days from that day and you'll get it.

Also make sure that YOU count back 180 days, and don't trust the date Disney tells you to call. When I initially booked my trip they said I could call on a certain date to make ADR's but I thought it sounded late. I pulled out the calendar and the date they gave me was a week after the date I counted to, so if I had listened to them we would have been out of luck.

it is 180+10 i called and booked all mine at 7am on Monday, they don't release everything. They only had a few opening for CRT, but I was able to get everything else I wanted at the time I wanted.

i'll call on the 180 day mark, and if they don't have all the ADRs i need (during our 7 night trip) i'll just call each day thereafter, as more tables are released (since they don't release them all like someone said)

Yes, ignorance is a problem. Back when it was 90 days out, I called exactly at 7am to book CRT only to be told that it wasn't 90 days (excuse me, it was!). I called back and the new CM was happy to book it for me, and luckily there was still some available! I wish all the CM's were on the same page. :)
