Not sure about the other 2 resorts.
But at RPR this year pool area never seem crowded, you had to show room key for everything, must have been big problems with people using the facilities. Also saw some being confronted to show room keys.

I would imagine with the hotels being so close to the parks, you would get some people walking over and trying to use the pools.

You would expect that Damo. But on previous visits ,midweek at the pool was as bad as the weekend when a lot of Floridans would fill the place. But this year the pool area was very very quiet

I wonder if it was quiet because they were checking up on it? I've never been asked for my ID before and never really gave it a second thought. At the hotels, you need your key to get into the pool area but from my recollections at RPR, it seemed like that gate was often open.

We were at RPR this past weekend - Friday afternoon, Saturday and Sunday.

We had to show our room key to get pool towels and I was asked to show it once on Saturday afternoon from 2pm to 4pm.
The pool was crowded then so maybe they were trying to find folks who didn't belong.

Pool food and drink service was very slow - I didn't use it but the people next to me did and were upset that it took 45 minutes to get their food and drinks.
I just got up and walked to the bar to get my own margarita when I heard that.

GaSleepingBeautyFan, found service very slow around the pool compared to previous visits, waits sometimes 35mins or more. I find the RPR is has always plenty of people there on Fri and Sat nights.

Hey Robert- where is your trip report? I loved the last one you did!

i was under the impression you have to show your hotel key when you get towels at the pool area.
they do that at hrh in october.

dsmom, not very good at writing reports, but met up with Barb for a bit as well as KY07. my report would be similar to last year, a lot of time spent at the pool.

macraven, yes you always showed the key for towels, but they took the key when you ordered drinks or food, even if you where not charging it to the room.

we are staying at RPR, i was under the impression that is we want to try HRH or PBR pools we could - is this correct or will they turn us away with a RPR card???

you can pool hop as long as you are staying at one of the onsite hotels.

i think someone meant guests that were at the park for the day tried to come to the hotel pools to use. that is not allowed. pool hopping is only for the hotel guests. you qualify.

hrh

thanks robert for clearing that up with me.

Does that mean a HRH key would open the gate at RPR? or does someone have to let you in and then you show your key?

We've never pool hopped but it's nice to know how just in case.;)

Robert- you are being modest- your last report was great- loved the pictures! I know what you mean about the pool- we are headed down in Sept. for a split stay (pb and rpr) and our son loves the pool at rpr. Can you reccommend a good king suite view? Thanks!

FWIW, they were checking ID this morning at the RPR pool when my wife was getting a towel and she overheard one guy telling his kids he needed to go upstairs for the room key.

Which of the 3 resorts has the best pool for a family with two kids age 5 and 7?

Hard Rock and Portofino have great pools with slides. Royal Pacific does not have a slide but has a big play area with squirty things for kids.

dsmom, we where in 3600 which had a lovely view of the pool , you could see Dudleys and DD in the distance. Will post a pic when i upload them.

Yes kellymonaghan, no key no towels, and the same when ordering food and drinks.

dsmom, here is a photo from our room, the centre of the pic at the top of the trees is the HP construction

I think everyone must have been down at our pool at the Hard Rock, the pool was always busy with people just sitting in the water. It had a great vibe but was so busy compared to RPR last year.

We only had to show the room key twice for towels and the gates just worked without the room key. I thought they had actually cut back on security a lot compared with last year.

Last year we had to have a tag on the car to let us through the barriers to the RPR area. You had to show your key to actually walk up the path to the RPR hotel.

This year, no security guard on at the gate but you had to have a key to access the car park or pick up a daily ticket. When going back to the Hard Rock on a night we didnt have to show the guard our room key and gates just worked into the pool area.

We did have to give our room key for meals by the pool.
