Has anyone eaten at O'hanas since they made changes to the menu?

I'm so disappointed to hear that some of my favorites are gone!

I've had the new veggies and potatoes. The veggies were good and I thought the potatoes were great.

I have it on good authority that after Sept 14th (I think that's the date) the pineapple and caramel will be gone and it's getting replaced by a bread pudding dessert. All of the al a carte desserts except the sno cone in a bucket are being removed. The lazy Susan system is being replaced with big serving platters. Pretty much everything but the skewers is being changed. I did not ask what was happening with the chicken wings, wontons, and salad and if they were being replaced but I gathered from the comment "Everything is changing except the skewers" that they may also not make the cut.

We were there last night. The food and atmosphere was excellent.
On the lazy suzy was:
mixed vegetables(snap peas,carrots,celery,peppers)
salad(dressing was awesome-honey lime)
shrimp and vegetable wontons
potatoes au gratin
chicken wings
Then the meats came(turkey,beef,shrimp,pork)
pineapple with carmel sauce

What is the "Snow cone in a bucket"? Sound like something my 3 year old might like. He is allergic to milk!

I was there Friday night. My dh and I didn't like the potatoes at all. They were well done and gluey. The veggies were just ok, I liked the green beans much better. Everything else was the same. The meats were tender and delicious. And the Lapu Lapu, was the relaxer I needed :).

might not go back anyway as didn't really care for it but thought the wings & pineapple were the best part..however the bread pudding sounds good

:wave2: We have an ADR on Sept. 14. I really hope that the menu isn't changed before then. We booked this dinner based on the current offerings.

We ate at O'Hana's tonight. The pineapple w/ carmel sauce was gone. I was so disappointed....till I tasted the bread pudding - it was yummy.

we ate there last week and the pineapple was still there-I love it but Im sure I will like the bread pudding. Although pineapple fits in with the Ohana theme much more than bread pudding. If it aint broke, dont fix it!
We did have the potatoes and they we good if a bit heavy.

Please please please tell me that the coconut snowball is staying. If it is gone....oh! the humanity!!!

Ok, so maybe I'll survive, but I'll be sad!

Anne

It sounds like they`re doing away with everything that relates to the Poly theming. We`ve got ADRs for 9/23, but I`m not sure I`m as anxious to go now.

I can't believe they are changing everything, especially the desserts. DD7 will still be happy because she loved the Snow Cone. But I'm depressed now (lol) that they are doing away with the passion fruit cheesecake, that was one thing I was looking forward to. I personally have never liked traditional bread pudding but hopefully this is a little different. We have ADR for 10/5 and I hate to cancel them because dd loved the coconut rolling and hula hoop contests. Guess we'll just have to take our chances.

:cheer2: 29 days and counting
:earsgirl: princess:

Oh no! I thought I'd get in at least one more dinner with the pineapple and caramel since DH and I are going Sunday night, but after seeing drusso's post I guess we'll be eating bread pudding instead. :sad1:

When we were there a couple weeks ago, I tried getting some specific information about the rumored changes to the menu from our server, but he didn't seem to know (or wasn't willing to share) much more than the fact he heard there were lots of changes coming and people were not happy about them. I know I've mentioned at both dinners we've been to since the green beans were replaced that I miss them! I have to admit, though, once I was convinced by "Cousin Anthony" to try the potatoes because he assured me they were great, I really did like them. I never did get into the rice, though. Perhaps because I was too busy eating those green beans :earboy2:

I better enjoy the current Ohana menu while I still can on Sunday. I'm glad I had my coconut snowball last time considering it may have been my last from what I'm reading here tonight. :sad1:

Oh i hope not everything changes because my adr is on the 15th of September! :earseek:

So the pineapple is already gone? :sad1: I do love bread pudding, but I just don't know if I'd be able to eat bread budding after that meal. I'm always so stuffed and the pineapple, being fruit, seemed like the perfect ending to the meal. Not too heavy, you know?

Hmmm, tell me more about this bread pudding. Were there any Polynesian touches to it? Coconut perhaps?

And there were still shrimp on the skewers? I thought the shrimp were being taken away?

That is it, if the pineapple is gone, we will not go back, I love bread pudding, but no one else in my family will touch it.....

Gotta know - what is the "Lapu Lapu?" ;)

The Lapu Lapu is an alcohol drink served in a fresh pineapple. I think its a rum drink but in any case its delicious. We were there on Aug 24 - had the shrimp, pork, beef and turkey on skewers. Potatos were very good. Pineapple was served too. But no coconut races only hula hooping.
