Changed mind, 13-year-old happy, 16-year old not so...

We were toying with the idea of replacing the last 3 days of our 7-day WDW visit right after Thanksgiving with a 3 night cruise. After much debate, we are now strongly leaning against the cruise, feeling that it would be just too much rushing around that might make the whole trip too stressful. To make the letdown of opting out of a cruise seem less painful, I'm thinking of adding 2 days to the trip. Since we've never been at Christmas time before (5 summer trips), I'm thinking we'll enjoy having more time to soak in the holiday ambience.

My 13 year old daughter is relieved with the decision, but my 16-year old is quite disappointed. She was really warming up to the idea of a cruise and getting quite excited.

So my question is this...What could we do to give her a little "extra" treat while we're at WDW to help make her feel better about the decision? Or is there something about the Christmas experience alone that will really fire her
up?

Any ideas on how we can add some extra touches to our trip would be most welcome. Thanks!

I agree with the Segway Tour. The minimum age is 16, so this is something that she can do but that your younger DD couldn't do (not sure if that's a good thing, or a bad thing!). We've done the Segway Tour twice now and it's a lot of fun. It will definitely bring a smile to your DD16's face :goodvibes

Tell me about the Segway Tour--what is it, what do you see, cost, etc.

Thanks!

You could give her her own "cruise". Illuminations Cruise, Wishes Cruise, or if you can't do that, rent a pontoon boat on Bay Lake and take a tour for an hour.

I know this isn't Disney related but there is some really good shopping in Orlando. I have 13 & 17 dd's. When my 17 dd comes, we always take her shopping. Yes, the 13 dd comes but the older is the one that truly enjoys it. We live abut 3 hours from Orlando so we go often & that is what will get my older one to come....the stores
