We are scheduled to fly Delta Express in Sept. I checked our flights on-line to check for a drop in the fare. Everything has changed. Now the flight shows that it has changed to Delta Connections. It has the same departure and arrival times. I called them and they told me that we are still booked on Delta Express but the changes are scheduled for Sept. 1st so they will call me then. She also said that they are already booking new tickets on the Delta Connections flight. I have questions...........
1: How do these planes compare ?? A Delta Express 737-200 and a Canadair Regional Jet. I was already concerned about the Express being a small plane, now the CRJ is even smaller (my mom is clausterphobic).
2: What will they do about overbooking?? The DE seats 107 and the CRJ seats 50 people..........the lady at Delta said "the CRJ flight will definately be over-booked". (Yet they are still selling tickets, because I inquired about tickets for my cousin)
Thank you very much for any input you have. This is only my second time flying and last time went very smoothly.
This vacation is a gift to my parents and they only wanted to go for 4 nights, but now if they are bumped from their 7:00 am flight, they could lose a whole day. I understand we could've been bumped before, but the lady I talked to this morning said she didn't know what they are planning on doing, going from a 107 passenger plane to a 50 passenger plane on three flight schedules for that day. And they're still selling tickets!! Are they doing such a thing as selling new tickets for the DL Connection flight without reassigning everyone that already had tickets on DL Express? I am sorry for rambling. I really don't understand all this. Like I said in my earlier post this is our second time flying so I hope I am not sounding totally ignorant about it all.
