Change Magical Express Tags?

Our flight to Orlando was cancelled and we were able to secure a new flight on Tuesday. The lady I spoke to at DVC said we can just cross out the date on the Magical Express luggage tags and when we check our bags at the new (different from the original) airport, they will go right to Orlando and then to Bay Lake.

Has anyone done this? Makes me kind of nervous.....

The airline doesn't use the disney luggage tags to get it to the airport, they have their own. Once it gets to Orlando and Disney sees that tag and scans the barcode they should have no problem directing it to the right room. I've never actually crossed out a date, but I did fly in a day before my reservation started and sent one bag via DME and picked up my other bag for my one night at the Hyatt. I did get a call from DME making sure I didn't need that bag that night, but other than that everything went smoothly. You can also just skip the tags and take your bag claim ticket to the DME fest where you get on the bus and they will pull your bags that way and send them to your room.

I wouldn't worry. I would use the tags like they said and not expect any issue.

The exact same thing happened to me. Flight cancelled today and not going out until Tuesday. Love winter in New England!

I called Magical Express and they told me that as long as the tags are on we are fine. She said that they don't look at the date, but just scan the tags. Same with the bar codes in the booklet.

Fingers crossed that we both get out!

I'm so stressed! Looks like snow again tomorrow. Genuinely thinking we aren't going to make it. Fingers crossed.
