Change in Concierge Collection

I've read a few posts with references to changes in concierge collection, but I haven't seen what those changes are. Could someone enlighten me? I'm not on the board all the time, so I'm sorry if this was a hot topic with many posts that I just missed!

Not really a hot topic. But DVC is eliminating a number of the resorts/hotels that were offered this year. If you go to the Member site and pull up the CC point chart for 2008, you will see that about half are being done away with. Look for the hotels with an asterisk by the name. Those are the ones that DVC will no longer take reservations for after the end of January 2008. No one has any idea if they are going to add to the list later in the year. But they have done the same thing to the Adventurer's Collection. My theory is that they are going to eliminate both collections in the next year or two. With the addition of ABD, 2 more cruise ships, and the resort in Hawaii, I feel they are looking to just offer Disney type vacations or trades through II. After the announcement that they are going to start offering 3 and 4 day stays through II, it strengtheeds my belief.

Thanks! I checked the member site and saw what will not be offered anymore. I'm sad to see Tanque Verde Ranch going off the list. That was something we had planned to do once our youngest DS is a little older. Guess we can still do it, just not on points!

I feel your pain. DH is VERY disappointed that Keystone is being dropped as well. We just joined DVC this fall. I'm the Disney junkie (not him). He was looking forward to alternating trips on points.....Disney and Keystone for skiing. I wonder if our guide knew this was coming? She knew how much DH was excited about the Keystone option. I realize there are no assurances about what is offered when you join. However, since we just joined, it stings a bit more for sure.

YEAH, according to the list, it's been GUTTED.

Again, not sure how DVC can continually talk about the programs variety, when they are cutting so much variety out of it.

It's very curious to me that even the hotels they are listing as being removed from the conceirge after May list point values for June through the end of the year.

I'm still in the process of closing on my first contract, so I don't have access to the member site. Anyway someone can share a list of which resorts are going? or which are staying... whichever is shorter.

While CC wasn't one of the reasons we bought into DVC, we did see a few resorts we wouldn't mind visiting if we had some extra points one year.

We are VERY sad to see that Tanque Verde Ranch was going off the list. TV was one of our most favorite vacation resorts... ever.... One of our top five.

Don't know what else to say.
