When you want to change your dining time, do you have to go somewhere to do so, or can it be done on the App? We just booked the NYE cruise, and main dining wasn’t available.
Plus the Aqua Duck and/or Aqua Mouse is completely dead at 5:30.We did late dining on our last cruise because main wasn’t available when we booked- and honestly we liked it so much better I think we are definitely late dining people from now on!
It was so nice to not have to rush back to the ship from port to get ready for dinner! We were literally the very last guests still on Castaway Cay which was just awesome. As soon as we boarded they rolled up the gangway behind us! Got lots of great photos of the place completely deserted.
You can waitlist for early dining ahead of time by calling and/or you can request a change once you board- but remember there are no guarantees. If it’s full- it may stay full and you may just have to accept the late dining.
Thank you!My family has never did anything but late dining. But everyone has their own perference and reasons for each dining time.
NYE cruise sounds so fun! Have a great time.

Hi! There was room on first dining for you, apparently. Thank you for the suggestion . The only option I have is to “ cancel the waitlist. “ I have been on a waitlist to change once before, and it did work. I will keep checking!I have changed my dining time from late to early on the website. Go to your reservation and scroll down to dining and change the time.
Have a wonderful time! We went when our grandchildren were 4,5 and6. Great memories! Now those grandchildren are 20,21 and 22! Oldest just graduated college!I hope you get your dining time you want. I feel like they are not filling the ships. There are a lot of discounts and promotions.
We usually book late dining but I had to change one of our cruises because we are taking our adult kids and my granddaughter is only 4.
Your home time zone is also an issue. As West Coasters, we didn't even turn our body clocks around on our Disney Caribbean cruise. We had late seating, 8:30 pm, so 5:30pm for our bodies. Our kids were 12 and 16 and played after school sports, so normal dinner time at home was 7 pm on a GOOD day. In May and June during Little League season when games go until a bit after sunset, as late as 8:30 pm, some nights dinner was at 9 pm! So late seating was eating early for us. And some how all our excursions were after 11 am. Only problem we had was on disembarkation day. Late seating breakfast was at 8 am, we had everything planned out. Get up at 7:45 am, dressed and out of the stateroom by 8 am. Unfortunately the head cabin steward came by and knocked on our door at 7 am to |make sure we knew we had to be out by 8 am". Lost 45 minutes of sleep for no reason.Thank you!
We are senior citizens and probably exemplify “early to bed, early to rise.” However for a 4 night DCL, NYE cruise, we should be OK. I WILL book an early Palo dinner, and, on NYE itself, we want to stay up. That would only mean room service for 2 nights.
We were very surprised when I noticed the Dream’s NYE cruise was not blacked out to use a Placeholder and get the discount. I even emailed DCL to check!
We have been on the Magic one NYE, and we used to go to WDW for other NYEs. One of us has had health issues for the past three NYE’s, and recently our Fur Pal, Gus, has passed, and I want to celebrate this coming new year, and this cruise seems to fill the bill!
