Our first day in the parks will be Thurs. Jan 20. It is a morning EMH at the MK. My plan was to take my kids DS 3 and DD 10 to DHS at rope drop to do TSM as my DS is a HUGE Toy Story fan.

Four things are making me consider changing my mind....
-Pretty much everyone in our group (of dozens) wants to do day one rope drop at MK
- I will be the only adult so not sure how well I will be able to handle the dash to TSM for a ride and fast passes
- I think with my DS TSM is really the only ride he will want to do/can do at DHS and he might be just at pleased with the Buzz ride at MK and then there are dozens of other things he can ride
- With a group of three one of us would need to ride alone....if we head to MK with the rest of our group there will be plenty of other adults and kids to ride with

So is TSM worth it? I love the ride and I do like avoiding the EMH park. But if our plan is MK until around 11 and then head to DHS...that may be better but will probably mean no TSM?

Am I over-thinking this? I just want my kiddos to have fun. I do want to be at DHS by 12:30 to catch the DCR show as my friend dances in it and then the new parade at 3.

I love WDW (been 11 times) but I hate the decision making. Maybe it will be slow enough on a Thursday in late January that I am just over-thinking everything.

Any ideas?

Given your circumstances, I think I would join the group for MK rope drop. When you head over to DHS around 11am, you may still be able to get FPs. Or, the stand-by line may be manageable...

I guess it just depends on what is more important to you.

I agree with PP. Go to MK with the group. Even if there are no FPs for TSM by the time you get there later, your DS will probably LOVE the line area for the ride and not even notice how long it is taking to get to the actual ride. Hopefully, you can talk someone else in to waiting with you to ride with your DD.
