chances of switching to Poly studio at 7 months

Poly is continuing its quick filling of studios that began for reservations beginning late Sep 2016. On March 5, standard and lake view studios actually lost both Oct 5 and 6, meaning anyone trying on March 6 for Oct 6 was dead on arrival at 8 a.m. Oct 7 went quickly at 8 a.m. this morning, March 7, in both. One thing to keep an eye on is what is happenning behind you, Lake View is filled for all of Oct 1-7 but Oct 3 through 5 just opened up again in standard view, indicating that walkers may be passing dates by and creating openings that can be had if one is watching closely.

does this hold true for early september? we're waiting on our poly resale to close and want to add 1 night at the poly to our rented point res at boardwalk .. starting to lose hope that it will happen since it's unlikely we'll be able to book till 4-5 months out.

I was able to switch to Poly for Friday->Tuesday for Columbus day weekend in Oct. Lakeview. At the 7 month mark availabilty 1st thing in the morning but by that same evening these days opened and I called and got it. I had a waitlist for them but that had not yet filled.

thanks for the glimmer of hope. since we're looking for 1 day, we'll likely waitlist if we can't get it (while booking a room w/ cash through disney)... which means i need to figure out exactly how that works. gives me something to do while we wait to close!

When we tried to switch to the Poly for our October 12-15th reservation. We couldn't get the three days in a row we wanted either for standard or lake view. Both were missing a day. So there are days here and there available at the Poly.

I planned on a split stay from 10/15 - 10/22, half at BWV (home) and half at Poly. I was trying to book a full week at Poly starting on the 15th, and then release the first few days so we could end our vacay there. On 3/15, there was weeklong availability for standard and lake studios exactly at 8:00 AM. I picked a week in a standard view, and then the page refreshed and availability was all chopped up. Luckily, lake view was still available starting the 15th for a few days and I was able to reverse the order of my split stay. Still, probably the most stressful timed Disney experience for me beyond booking RunDisney.

Poly is a monorail resort located 2 min walk from the EPCOT monorail. I do not think the demand will ebb for Poly at 7 months during F&W.

I hear lots of people say that with so many studios, Poly will be avail.

But. Here. Now. With 60% of Poly released and about 22% sold, there are a few gaps already in Nov/Dec and avail disappears exactly at 8am. That means almost 3X as many Poly owners as normal booking are concentrating their booking on F&W.

With Poly 25% sold for bungalows (25% oversold for studios) and demand from Poly owners concentrated here, I think Poly will be tight even at 11 months when sold out.

Of course, anybody renting Poly points in the 11 month window is renting here. You don't need Poly point points to stay right now during off time, there's 7 month avail.

"Buy where you want to stay" could easily be more specifically applied as "buy where you want to stay during F&W through Jan half marathon".

Not necessarily. Its possible that DVD knows it will make another declaration of PVB Residential Units in a few months and that it is already allowing DVC members to book those rooms for reservations that commence after the anticipated declaration date. Thus, its possible that the additional inventory made available with the future declaration is already being booked.

I too am looking for 3 nights at the Poly! Our trip is in Nov., ideally it would be Nov 22-25/16. This would be perfect! I keep counting down the days to book

Just tossing in my experience this week (now that it's FINALLY over)....

I was hoping to snag a little under 2 weeks at the Poly, half standard/half lagoon view. I had to change the order of my split a few days prior because of the availability I was noticing (first day of lagoon was already gone, but standard was available).

On my 7 month mark, standard 1st day was unavailable. The next day I was able to get day 2/3/4 in between unavailable spots. I ended up grabbing day 1 as well before my wait list came through and cancelled the waitlist. (this was a Sunday/Mon/Tues/Wednesday). Since then I've just been watching to see if my next few days opens up to call and add on. It hasn't. They've actually slowly booked up. It's pretty clear people are walking their reservations since it's just going down the line booking up.

Yesterday I was ready to book second half of my stay and was glad that I finally could since the first day hadn't been booked up. Sadly, the website was down the entire first hour and when I called at 9a I didn't have my member number so the CM wouldn't help me. I found it, called back 2 minutes later and there was already a 15 minute wait. Of course, now my first day was booked up for both standard and lagoon (I would have just extended my standard portion at this point. I don't even care anymore). Super annoying! I've never had to have my member number before, and I didn't have it readily available because the website was down!

Anyway, today I was up, the website was working, and I had a full Saturday-Friday opening for both standard and lagoon view. I had my screen open to the booking page ready to go, and right at 8a I was able to book the full Sat-Fri in a lagoon view room. So, thank goodness, it's basically over. I'm still missing those 2 nights from earlier in the week but I've got them wait listed and since they're a Thursday/Friday I'm hoping that they'll open at some point. I'll keep checking. If not, I'll probably just book those two nights somewhere else, although it's going to be a pain in the butt to switch.

Anyway, moral of the story - if everything is working as it should be and you're ready to go with the mouse button with all your info filled out right at 8a, you should be okay. By the time I went back to check availability after booking, lagoon was booked for that first day again and standard was available. Checked again about 5 minutes later and standard was booked for the first day. It definitely goes quick. I wish I would have just walked my own reservation to be honest. I ended up booking an extra day just in case we wanted to stay a little longer. I'll be darned if I deal with this again! lmao

thanks for taking the time to post your experience but ugh what a nightmare! Right now my plan is to book saturday - saturday before I want to check in and then walk my reservation forward for the 3 days I ACTUALLY want. So I am setting myself up for 4 days of stress lol. I check availability every few days and 2 of the days I wanted are gone on lagoon view but I'm fine with standard, we will be in the parks a lot of the time.

Sucks about the CM not helping you, I have always been fine with just my SSN! that would infuriate me. but thanks for the tip, when I am walking will make sure to have my member card at the ready. I feel like if I can get that first week booked so I can walk it forward it will be easier to get what I really want.

Just updating. I snagged my 2nd waitlisted day this morning in a standard, and my waitlist came through on my first day for a standard a few minutes ago.

So there's definitely some movement on reservations. Maybe you can switch the days you're wanting to go to the Poly for?
