Chances of reservation at 7month window/OKW

We have decided to take a family vacation to WDW in Dec. and want to stay at OKW because we need 2 beds in the studio. (From my understanding, BWV only offers 1 bed and a sofa bed in their studios....correct me if I am wrong please.)
We are planning to request a 2 bedroom and a Studio (non-smoking) and was wondering what you think of the chances of receiving this request? Also, do you think that we have a good chance of being placed in the same building? (we will request non-smoking) - Thanks for your opinions.

OKW seems to have lots of 2BR availability. I am not sure about the studio availability since we don't ever do that. The 7 month window does appear to be easier in general at OKW than the other resorts because of the large number of rooms there. The only thing I think would be impossible is the 3BR GV. I have heard that both GV's and studios fill up first. If you can be a little flexible as to what days, just call and see what is available at 7 months. Don't make your air ressies until you have the for sure days on the room.
I just realized you also asked about same building. They won't guarantee that, but I know they will try if you request it.

While you may get the same building, you could be up two different sets of stairs. There are no stand alone studios, so there will either be a one bedroom unit between the two bdr and the studio, or it could be up or down a flight of stairs.

We have had other family members request units hear ours, we have usually been in the same building. Often up different flights of stairs.

A risk you face is simply the time period you mentioned as when you are going--December; and I am assuming it is not Christmas Week. That has become a difficult time of year to get with the 7 month window because it is a very popular time for DVC members. For example, members are already reporting difficulty of getting BWV for that time -- and that is BWV members trying to get ressies 10 months out. There are multiple reasons for its popularity and even a few more this year, for example: (a) the points needed for a night are at their lowest level; (b) all of Disney's very popular Christmas decorations and events are already up and running; (c) the resorts have their annual members' meetings that time of year and many like to attend those; (d) this year starting in October will be the Walt Disney 100th birthday celebration and thus adds a reason to go--also that actual birthday is December 5 and I assume some are going hoping there may be something special planned for that day; (e) in late November to early December will be the DIS convention for all who visit this site--it has already booked 300 rooms at YC offered for those who wanted a package and I have to assume some DVC members are going for it while staying at a DVC resort

Don't give up hope. Last year I was able to get a OKW studio in Nov for Dec 15 - 19.
