July 4th Question

Hi, we're going to be staying at the cabins on July 4th week and plan on doing a little MK time on the actual holiday (prepared for heavy crowds). I saw a YouTube video where the boats were not running at the end of the night on July 4th due to the 360 fireworks. Are we best off to hang out for a little bit before we even attempt to catch a ride back to the fort? Also thinking that we don't want to leave our golf cart near the boat launch in the case that we have to bus back. Thanks for any advice!

I can't answer the fireworks question but go ahead and park the golf cart down by the lake if you plan to take the boat to MK that day. The reason is the bus from FW to/from MK is the ONLY one that leaves out at the Settlement Bus Depot down by Pioneer Hall and the lake area. All the other busses for Ep, DHS, AK leave out from the Outpost Bus Depot which is up near the Fort check-in building. So whether you come back that night by boat or bus, you will end up down by Pioneer Hall which is the general area where your cart will be. No need then hang around waiting before leaving (unless you want to).

The bus to the Fort from MK turns into the Wilderness Lodge entrance and then turns right just before the Lodge building to come into the Fort by the Tri Circle D horse barn.
