We're staying at BCV in May and for our resort/pool day, I planned to eat dinner at B&C. I'm starting to second-guess myself now since we've never been there before and I keep seeing threads about how hard it is to get in. If we planned to eat dinner around 7, what's our chances of getting in there? We're planning to go on a Monday, mid-May.

Should I throw out that idea and just make an ADR somewhere? If so, where? I'm considering Captain's Grille at YC or going into EPCoT and hitting Coral Reef or Garden Grill. We haven't been to any of the three, so I have nothing to go on there either. And that's if I can still get an ADR for those places.

Thoughts anyone?

Well chances are very high that you will get in - it's just that you might have to wait for a table. Since you will be at the pool anyway, just send someone over to put your name in and get the beeper and then you can just wait there.

I agree, especially if you're staying at BCV, I would check out the wait before you leave from the pool area and head back to your room. We've been there in May it seems to average about 45 min that time of the day. So, then just put your name in and head back to your villa, shower and go back down (of course that may not be enough time for everyone to get ready?)

Otherwise you can put your name in and stroll the BW, do a little shopping. B&C is a fun place and you'll definitely get in, you may just need to wait a little while. It may not be that long of a wait either..could be longer at another place even if you have an ADR.;)

ENJOY!! WE love the BCV!! Make sure to check out the lake area near the BCV pool, lots of turtles swimming around, we love to watch them.:goodvibes

You'll get in to B&C...if you want to eat at 7, just go put your name in at 6:30....

Just plan ahead for the wait and you'll be fine... but don't expect to walk up and have a 10 minute wait. Bank on 45-60 minutes and you should be good. Worst case scenario is make a back up ADR for captains grill.

Beaches & Cream is a MUST for this family when we go every June. The day we plan to go there we have a late breakfast arounf 10am and we plan to get to Beach & Cream around 4pm to beat the crowds. Last year we did it different..got there at 5:30 thinking it would still be Ok as in our experience a lot of people eat more around 6pm and later. I was wrong..it was a 90 min wait and we waited because it it TOTALLY worth the wait. We'd wait 2 hrs if we had to. They have THE best burgers we've ever had. I wish they would expand the darn place!!!

The first time my family and I went to Beaches & Cream in August 2010 we got there around 9:45 PM and had at least a 20 - 25 minute wait. The second time we went in December 2010 at 8:30 PM and we got seated right away without a wait. So it's going to be 50/50 if you need to wait for a table or will be seated right away.

Your wait depends on your party size. If there is a huge party waiting to be seated, then that will cause a big wait for anyone afterwards as they have to "gather" empty tables for the bigger party. It may appear to you that there are empty tables, but what they have to do is wait for several to be empty to seat the larger party (when I say larger party I mean a group larger than 4). We opt for the counter ALL of the time now (just the 2 of us) so we are often seated right away. If there are counter seats together when you "peak" in, ask about sitting there if there are enough in a row to accommodate you.

We just wandered in every time we wanted to over marathon weekend and never had to wait for a table.

DH and I ate there in Dec and in Jan.

We went both times around 7:30 PM and had a wait of about 25 min each time.
We don't mind waiting because it is worth waiting for!

Can't wait to go again in May!!

The only time you may not have to wait too long would be late afternoon. The problem is - it's very small inside - not many tables at all. But, just give them your name and you get a buzzer and you can wait in the pool are or in the lobby. It's worth the wait!

If you don't want to wait, try lunch. We usually go a little before opening at 11 and get in right away :)

I am sure you will get in, but be prepared to wait, just in case. We have dined there two times, and the longest we waited was a half hour. The other time we were seated in about 10 minutes. Of course it all depends on how busy it is.

on the one hand, it is very, very small. On the other hand, I don't think a lot of dining plan people see it as a good use of a credit, so that helps. If you are hanging out at sab anyway, just put in your name when you get hungry and wait. It probably won't be too much longer than 1/2 hour or so in May, but it can be longer right at supper time, and sometimes it can get bad right after epcot lets out or if there is an early closing time at the studios, that sort of thing. Like most things at wdw, it is probably more hype than reality, but it is a pretty darn good $10 hamburger.

Thanks for all the positive input! I made an ADR for Captain's Grille as a back-up plan, but I'll plan to go put our name in a little before we really want to eat then have the rest of the clan either come over from the pool or over from the room closer to when we'll actually be seated. Sounds like it's a must-do! I can almost taste it already!

OP - I'll see you there! Our family will be staying at the BCV from May 6-13. I'm so excited - it is our first time staying at the Beach Club!! :yay:

It is very busy from 12-1.......4-6...........and 9-11

If you eat between those times you can usually walk right up. also, since it is so small, at most you have to wait is an hour, the time it would take for a family to eat a meal start to finish.
