Chances of getting BWV Standard view?

We just returned from 2 weeks at WDW, part of which was spent for the first time at BWV. We really enjoyed this resort, and want to return for part of our trip in May/June 2007. What are the chances of getting a 1 one-bedroom, standard view for the first week of June at the 7 month window?

You never know. I would book at your "home" to be sure you have somewhere to stay, then, at the seven month mark, call to see what's available. If it's not, then I would get on the day-by-day waitlist.

At the seven month mark, for our upcoming early November trip, I called and got a couple nights in a standard view 1br at BWV. I took them, switched my BCV to OKW for the other nights. I waitlisted, day-by-day, for those OKW nights. One by one, all my nights came through!

From reading these boards, I really thought I was going to be out of luck, since it's the tail end of the Food and Wine Festival, but I was able to get a 1br standard view at BWV twice during the first week in November.

We booked a 2 bedroom Std View at 7 months out for this past May (beginning of). No waiting list either. You never know until you try!

I would have to agree... you never know. Last year, I got a standard view about 7 months out when I added a day - but could not get a Boardwalk View.

For next year's trip (January), just today I cancelled 4 days of a Boardwalk View (switched to Beach Club for something different), so someone is going to get a Boardwalk view less than 6 months out - so it never hurts to try and then to waitlist if you don't get it right away!

I would try, I got a standard view 1 bedroom at the end of April a couple of years ago at the 7 month mark (I combined points with friends who own elsewhere).

I got one for 12/23-12/26 calling at 7months out...you never know.

I agree with everyone, You have to try. However, I tried for our Jan 2007 trip and I waited for exactly the 7 month window and they had no standard views available at the BWV. But we decided to try the BCV and we had no problems. We just had to use more points. Oh well! Good Luck!

We tried to move our VWL studio ressie to BWV standard view for our stay this past June (11-14). The whole time wasn't available, we called sometimes in January, I think. We didn't waitlist or anything, it was just a thought to see if we could. We decided to go with a OKW 1 bedroom and were very happy.

I think your chances are better than you think!

The important thing is to (1) get on the waitlist right away and (2) have a back-up plan. You may want to call for the room day-by-day right at the 7 month window and get whatever days you. Then, waitlist for the others on a day-by-day basis. I have to admit that this method can be worrisome since you never know if you have all the days that you need until you actually get them. There is a chance that you will have a hole right in the middle of your stay and you never come off the waitlist. That's why a back-up plan is important. If you can swing it, I would also make a reservation at another DVC resort. SSR and OKW will be open at the 7 month window. You may have to juggle points a bit to make two reservations or you may have to have your back-up be a studio. Good luck!

We got June 18-23 BWV standard view at 7 months without booking day by day. We just got back--LOVED it!

2 BR is the hardest Std View followed by studio. 1 BR is the most likely to succeed. I would guess 50/50 chance.

Thanks for all the replies. I have already marked my calendar to call on the day exactly 7 months from our check-out day (isn't that correct?). I feel pretty confident - if I don't get it, it definitely won't ruin my trip!

I would recommend that you call day-by-day and not wait for the last day of your reservation. So, you want to call exactly 7 months before the check-out date of your FIRST day and add that one if you can. Then call the next day and add that day (if you can), and so on until you get to your real check-out date. I do this when I book my annual New Years Eve trip.
