Thank you! That is reassuring!we've gotten both as extra FPs many times. Soarin usually comes up more, but they don't take much time or effort. Grab whatever time is available and modify it earlier.
Unfortunately, in Tier 1 is Frozen, Soarin, Test Track, Meet Disney Pals, and Illuminations. Most of the attractions in Tier 2 are a very short wait time or pretty much walk on. I am hoping to get Frozen as well, but it's not a priority.Correct me if Im wrong here but Im pretty sure last year you could get Frozen and either (Test Track or Soarin) Now it appears its only one of the 3.
We will be there the week after Thanksgiving. It is generally a "slower" time, but I don't think there really is a "slow" time at Disney anymore! Lol!I think a lot has to do with how busy the park is. Going during slower times would probably allow for a better chance. As we are going over Thanksgiving week, I am not expecting much luck. But, I will keep an eye out just in case.
Our usual Epcot plan is to rope-drop Soarin' and use our tier-1 FP on Frozen Ever After, and then my coaster-loving daughter and I have always been able to get an extra FP for Test Track later in the day.

It could be that your son doesn't like the fact that Soarin actually moves up into the air, whereas FoP doesn't (from what I have heard, never been on it yet) My husband is scared of heights and won't do Soarin ever again, however, he is willing to give FoP a chance. Hoping my 6yr old son will like both! He is fairly new to rides and doesn't like much! Lol!Thats more or less what I do. Used the FP+ on Frozen. TT has a single rider line so in theory you can all go in the single rider line and sit close to one another (just not in same row).
Im a little nervous using a FP on Soarin. My son rode it once and got really scared (doesnt like heights or the feeling of heights) Have tried every year since and he just doesnt like it (Had to get out of line twice now). Weird thing is he LOVES Flight Of Passage.
