Hello fellow DVC’ers! So I’ve been stalking the DVC site this week as we have decided to plan a large family trip in late September 2022. Trying to book a 2 Bed room and a studio (both standard view) for 9/26 to 10/1. So far I was able to get the 2 BR for 9/27 to 10/1, so waitlisted the 9/26 - 9/27. For the studio I was only able to get 9/27 to 9/30, so waitlisted 9/26-9/27 but I’m just having to keep checking for the 9/30-10/1. I know I still have a couple months before 7 month window opens up. From experience is it realistic to think these few days will come through or maybe I should just book a garden/pool view and be done with it(although we might have to drop a day off our stay)?

I think it will be tough as that is prime F and W time. I’d book pool/garden and then waitlist or stalk.

I would probably waitlist 9/30-10/1 for the studio instead of the 9/26-9/27 because 10/1/22 is Epcot's 40th anniversary so that night may be harder to get. If it was me I would hold out for standard at least until the 7 month mark if I was trying to conserve points. While that is food and wine there will likely still be some BWV members that are planning on moving somewhere else.

Small correction - Epcot will be the 40th anniversary. :)

Thanks for the tips. I went ahead and booked a studio boardwalk view for 9/30 to 10/1 and then moved the waitlist for the studio to replace that one 9/30 to 10/1 given it might be in higher demand. I’ll keep stalking to grab the 9/26. Fingers crossed. I’m going to stick with the standard view, until after the 7 month mark and go from there.

The 2BR is a lockoff, so this is unlikely.
I’m not following what this means. Can you elaborate? I only need one more night for the 2 BR - 9/26. Are you saying that isn’t likely to come through?

The problem is that a studio has to become available and the 1BR also be available to book the lock-off. Your waitlists were actually fighting each other because both required the standard studio for the 26th to become available. It's a tough thing about getting 2BR's at BWV - they are all lockoffs so you're competing with those booking studios too.

Last night I was able to get two more nights in a 1 BR Standard HA at BWV in May. I now have a total of 10 nights. It took some stalking, but I've always managed to get additional nights even in October/November. It happens when you least expect it so be ready.

I then had to change flights (got a $90 credit!), cancel our plan B flights, cancel our plan B Shades of Green reservation and modify the rental car...oh, and modify Owners Locker pick up. Good notes are important so you don't forget a step.

Wait listing, stalking and flexibility are key! Don't give up and best of luck!
