Chances at 7 month window

What are the chances that I could get a 2BR villa at either BWV or BCV during October if I have to wait until the 7 month booking window?

If not there do you think BLT would have any left by then?

I'm gonna say pretty small. Food and Wine festival is very popular time for DVC members. You might find something paying cash but points will most likely be gone by then.

You won't get Boardwalk View or Standard View but you might be able to get two nights in the middle of the week in Pool & Garden View, for example a Tuesday and Wednesday night. If you needed just a 1BR your chances would be better but Studios and 2BRs are very difficult to get at that time of year. If you wanted more than just a couple of nights mid-week, you would have to go on the waiting list.

Thanks for answering - that's what I am afraid of. I would prefer not to do a split stay but maybe that would work ok. I've thought of renting points but I've never done that so wasn't sure how it would work.

If you rent points from someone who's home resort is BWV or BLT, they could attempt book farther out than the 7 month window although you are almost at that point for October 2014 stays now.

I suspect the 2BR options are very limited already at those two resorts for October this year.

I agree. I think the end of Oct tends to book up more slowly so there might be a possibility depending on the OP's dates. If the OP is looking for something around Columbus Day weekend that will be impossible to book 7 months out. I have no idea how successful people have been using the wait list for dates around that time but that would be the only option at this point, even if the OP tried renting from a BWV owner. I imagine that booking a 2BR around Columbus Day weekend is something that needs to be done 11 months out.

When is Columbus Day this year? Is it the 13th? I'm hoping for a 2BR standard at BWV for Oct 19 and 20. I'm prepared to waitlist and it's no biggie if we don't get it...we will be at AKV as a backup.

It is the second Monday in October so you are correct, it is Oct 13th this year, fairly late in the month this time around.

We were able to book a 1br at BWV for 5 nights in Oct (the first week) in 2010....

So, it's possible, but I know as a pp said, studios and 2brs are harder to get.

I was able to get a standard 1BR for three nights in October 2011 so I know it can be done. We are completely fine with staying at AKV for the whole trip if we can't get BWV.

Yes, if the OP wanted a 1BR the chances would be much better. Unfortunately the studios and 2BRs go long before the 1BRs do.

Sorry, no it was a 1BR. No doubt that it will be busy. I had a lengthy discussion with a CM about this. What happens is that there are several days available for use, but people that are within a relatively short distance, use Fri\Sat so then folks can't book a whole week. When we first went to book, we could get 6 of 7 days. But my was 100% against doing any type of split stay. But like I said, we were wait listed for about a day and then it came though.

Thank you all for the answers. My fault I should have mentioned this isn't till 2015. I just want to plan for the extra money if I end up having to rent points to guarantee a 2br.

It wouldn't be the end all to end up at another resort it's just that we have not stayed at either BCV or BWV yet and Epcot is our favorite park.

It's the time of year. Epcot's Food & Wine Festival runs from the end of Sept into early November and is very popular with DVC members. Some people have added on at BCV or BWV just to have the 11-month booking priority for F&W. That really skews the demand for October.

Once F&W is over, you have Thanksgiving and then early December (the most popular time) and then the holidays making late September through mid January a tough time to book BWV. The rest of the year and in particular late January, early May and early September, your chances will be much better.
