The Characters(yes, we are all real characters. Just ask the rest of the family)
Tausha (GrowinupDisney) my DSD, will be known as TGB or Tour Guide Barbie. This is an inside joke.
Chris, my DSIL will continue to be Panda.
Julie, my DW, will be known as Nala, because according to her, she is most like Nala.
Me. I will always be me. What else could I be but what I am? A Dude.
Have any of you out there ever driven through a car wash with the top down or the window open? Well, front row seating at Fantasmic must be a close approximation. I will admit, these were the best seats that I have ever had for a Fantasmic showing. And the wettest. As soon as the water screens turned on we started to feel the rain. While not a torrential downpour, we got rather soaked. But like true Disney troopers, we stuck it out and didnt move. Under normal summertime conditions I would expect these to be coveted seats. In the winter, my advice would be to steer clear of them.
As the show finished, we got up to leave and were greeted with The Great Stampede. Talk about headin up and movin out man this must be how cattle feel. It must have taken 20 minutes to get out of there. Now we know and knowing is half the battle. First in, last out. Kinda sounds like the Marines.
Now its almost closing time and everyone in the park is more or less making a b-line for the main entrance. As we check our time we are startled to see that our PS for Ohana is only about 30 minutes away. Uh-Oh! We get to the car and were of like Parnelli Jones. WDW has never seen a driver like TGB. This is the woman who backed up a one-way street in SF with traffic coming and says Dont worry. Theyll move. Very gutsy.
We arrive back at The Poly wit about 15 minutes to spare and get dressed in our finest. Now being that we go to Hawaii on a regular basis, I was not holding out for anything exceptional. How wrong I was. This place is GREAT!! Now its not a traditional Hawaiian dinner by any means, you do get to really feast like you would at a luau. This was the most food I have eaten in a while. Imagine having hot skewers of meat, shrimp, and turkey brought to your table fresh off of the fire (and I do mean fire. There is a real fire-pit where they cook the skewers). This had to be the best dinner we had the whole time we were at WDW. I highly recommend it and will make it part of my trip every time I visit.
As we are walking back to our room (very, very full), Nala, TGB and I decide to go for a swim. Now mind you it is only about 50 degrees out. Rather chilly. Nipply some would call it. We get to the room and change into our bathing suits. Panda declines to go and flops onto bed to rest and watch some TV. We get out to the poll and guess what?? ITS HEATED!!! YAAAA!!!! This was like bath water. Ever tried to psyche yourself into getting out of 80 degree water into 50 degree air?? Nipply. We get out of the water and literally run to our room. Good thing it was close. Nothing like hypothermia in Florida, huh? I was really hoping that they would have had a hot tub. Oh well, maybe that will be the next refurb.
As we get dried off and start to warm up again with hot showers, another day ends. We have come, we have seen, we have done. I am done. Sleep beckons and knowing that tomorrow will bring us to Pandas actual Birthday, I drift off with names like Aurora, Snow White, and Belle flowing through my thoughts.
