Certain use years worth more?

We’re currently DVC members with a March use year and we’re considering adding on some points. We’ve been keeping an eye on the resale listings and it seems as if March UYs are rarely available, and when they are, they move fast! Now, I’ve seen the stats (dvcnews.com/index.php/dvc-program/owning-dvc/1557-distribution-of-dvc-points-by-use-year) and I’m aware that only about 10% of all DVC points fall within the March UY so that could explain it, but I do wonder if some UYs are just more valuable or in higher demand than others.

UY's and the number of contracts sold in each year were chosen by Disney without regard to seasons and popular travel times.

Certain UY's would be more valuable only if they have a higher demand.

We have March use year too & noticed the same thing when looking for resale. Actually I wish we had a different use year now that my family decided they want to visit WDW in Feb. Sure hope no one needs to cancel last minute.

I think that it all evens out in the end. Popular use years are valuable because many people own them and look to keep the same UY when adding on. Rarer use years are valuable because they come up less frequently, so people looking to add on in the same UY will pay more.

April UY for VGF is attractive because that is the earliest UY to get 2013 points. Some guides have give buyers a headache about this denying that fact in the beginning.
