Certain Use Years on Wait-list for AKV!

We just joined at AKV on the Feb 10th sailing of the Wonder.....and I'm still trying to figure things out.

With a Dec UY, this means that we cannot stay at AKV in the Fall ever? What about other resorts? They certainly were not very clear about this and we were just going full steam ahead. :confused3

(Already have our first ressie: AKV Grand Villa Feb 09!) We'll be in Jambo House, and the savannah will be closed.....but we don't care! We can't wait!

Your UY only realy matters in times when you have to cancel a reservation. You may cancel a reservation and be past the deadline to bank the points that you did not get to use. Then you have to use these points or loose them within a short period of time.

My guide told me that I am #1 on the list for April 07 use year points, but my chances of getting them are very slim.

My guide told me earlier UY's in 07 will be very difficult to get right now with 07 points. I am waitlisted for Oct UY with 07 points myself and hoping they come through. About 3 weeks ago I added on (25 points) and got 07 points (waitlist came through in 2 days). I called to add on more and have been waiting about a week now.

Well, it's been 12 days now since my guide said 10 days or so, and I still don't have my points. :scared1: I really hope I get my points soon.

My April 2007 UY points came through. :woohoo: My guide called and left me a message saying she has great news, but I didn't get to speak to her. I did check the member website and I now have 200 more points in my April UY membership.

:cool1: My Oct 07 points just showed up on the web site

Dont you just love it when you get a good deal :rotfl:

I have been checking everyday in the hope of getting them, I have not even heard from my guide yet (and he is really on top of things).

Congrats:thumbsup2 That is quite a haul (200 points for April 07). Now that is a deal!

Awesome! LisaS, if they are starting to declare the units is there a way to find out when they will open?
Kidani Unit numbers start at 57. When someone purchasing AKV points gets a unit number of 57 or higher, we need them to report their occupancy date and we'll know that AKV will be open by that date at least.

The reason I say "at least" is became when Jambo House sales began, the first Units sold had an occupancy date of Sep 1st so it appeared that that would be the opening date for the first set of rooms. However, a month or two later they started selling Units with an occupancy date of July 1st and that turned out to be the opening date. It will be interesting to see if the same thing happens with Kidani, especially given that the first declared Units are in a part of the building that is not as far along as the building segments located closer to Jambo House.

I am still a lurker and not yet an official DVC'r. However I received a call Friday from our guide that we could purchase Kidani Village points with the $8 off incentive, a match of our purchase points to be used within 1 yr to be used at SSR or II only and no mf until next year. The UY would be June. We have been talking about it and have some more questions to ask our guide. It sounds like a good deal, right?! Or... should we wait??!! :confused3

The offer of "a match of our purchase points to be used within 1 yr to be used at SSR or II only and no mf until next year" is interesting.

I was wondering how DVC was going to get folks to purchase points at AKV-Kidani Village when their occupancy date is perhaps almost a year away. Since you can't use your AKV-Kidani points anywhere within DVC until your occupancy date, you won't have to pay MF.

But why would anyone buy unless they had some points to use? Points that are only good at SSR or II? Hmmm..

It sounds like just another variation on the Developer's Points, with even more restrictions if they are limiting point use to SSR or II. Hopefully they are offering the full 11 month booking priority with those restrictions.

The lack of maintenance fees makes sense since buyers wouldn't start paying on their Home until it is open.

Well we just got back from WDW in Feb so we didn't have plans to go back until next Oct. However now with this incentive we would "need" to go back within a year to use those "free" points. Our concern is how hard will it be to get ressies at SSR at a time when we can get away. We don't have an interest, right now, to use the II. What good are expiring "free" points if we can't get a ressie?
