So I finally got the worksheets to fill out from the Wedding Planner and it asks all the questions I was NOT prepared for at this time....such as what songs would you like to be played at the seating, mother's entrance, grooms entrance, bridesmaids, me, etc. etc. I HAVE NO CLUE!

At first I wanted songs from the Disney Weddings CD because I absolutely LOVE them....but last week I got the sample CD of the organist for the WP and OH MY GOD does it suck!! I was laughing, seriously, it made me scared. You should have seen my Dad's face, let alone DF. It sounds like a polyphonic ringtone that is all off! I was going to have the organist play because it came with the WP but NOW I really don't think I want that!

And one of the suggestions for the recessional on there (a DFTW "exclusive") was zippity doo dah. And "whistle while you work" for the seating!!!!! I couldn't believe it. If you all like that and I offended you, I'm sorry. However, I just didn't think that it was "wedding music" if you will.

Would it be cheesy to just have my CD playing? Can I play the same music at the cocktail hour?

I think a CD would be a great idea! That way, you know exactly what the music will sound like, and you can pick songs that really mean something to you.

I had a guitarist playing soft music while my wedding party was walking down the aisle, and he played a sweet sounding "folky" version of the wedding march while I walked down the aisle.

Well, I know of several brides who have played Zip a Dee Doo Dah as their recessional (but I'm not offended...just teasing!)

I think I remember hearing that the sample CD/DVD of the organist is bad but that it sounds much better in person. I can totally understand not wanting to take that chance though.

Talk to your EM/WP about bringing your own CD. I had asked about that for my wedding and was told that it must be a commercially produced CD (not one that I burned myself) due to copyright issues. But, I've also heard of brides who were allowed to use a CD/DVD they made themselves. It may just be a typical mis-information thing that I was told, or they may no longer have those requirements.

For my wedding, I only had the violinist. And I was concerned how it would all sound...just one lone violin. But it was AMAZING!!! We used all Disney songs for our wedding and they were beautifully done by the violinist.

Does anyone know how much it is to bring your own music? It seems like I read somewhere that it was $1,000 for use of the sound system!!! Hopefully I'm mistaken though because I would like to use the sound system too.

I am interested in knowing this too. We are getting married at the Yacht Club Gazebo and will use the violinist for most of the ceremony. My DF is making a CD he would like to use for our "first dance." And I was curious what options we have with regards to playing that and what that expense would be.

I asked about the sound system in the WP a while back and didn't get much response. I know our coordinator seemed to steer us away from it, but it's still something we are thinking about doing. There are just some songs that I want to have the words to because the words are why we chose the song, you know?

As for the paperwork you have to fill out and send back, don't worry! We got ours in December, had our planning session in January and it's now almost April and we still haven't made decisions on ceremony music yet. When you send it back, leave what you are unsure about blank. When we had our planning session, they just marked TBD on our BEO and left it blank until we decide. Hope that helps

I think a lot of Disney brides use "Disney" songs because they are at Disney-- and its a themed wedding of sorts. I had Disney music used throughout my ceremony and found it to be done up really well-- our voilinist was amazing. We didnt use Zip a Dee Doo Da (even though I probobly wouldnt have minded) but we did use 'When You Wish Upon a Star' and such. I certainly dont take offense you opinions-- to each his own-- and im sure your wedding will be perfect!!

I do understand your concern. I dont see any reason why your WP wont let you bring your own CD. Maybe you could get the violinist to play? Or do you have anyone in your wedding party that can actually play the piano? That might be an idea.

I agree, we were very dissapointed with the CD- it sounded awful. However, our EM told us the organist could play any of the songs, but have it sound like any instrument we wanted. Since we didn't like the organ sound, we chose a piano and harpist sound. Saved money and sounded great!

I say go for the CD... I havent heard the organist, but I trust what you said.. I wouldbt want my recessional music to be zip a dee doo dah.. I dont mean to offend anyone I am just stating mu own opinion.. I am planning to get the String Quartet. But I LOVE the Disney Wedding Cd.. So beautiful... If anyting have them just play that.. We used a lot of Disney music for the wedding- mostly instrumental. O.k., we did have the "Whistle While You Work" song play when the 7 groomsmen came in- it was a more subtle version, but again, we wanted somethign that was fun for us. We also used another version of "Zip a dee doo dah" as well for our exit and it was the right song for us. As Maggie said, to each their own. I just hope everyone finds their perfect song!

Music was literally the last thing we figured out before our wedding, and we AGONIZED over it. We had our ceremony in Epcot, so we decided to just use our own CD, rather than use a violinist. We didn't want to use Disney songs - it just wasn't for us. We decided we wanted some kind of classical music that was appropriate for a wedding but not too well known.

In the end, I found a CD on iTunes called A Bride's Guide to Classical Wedding Music. There's 61 songs for $24.99. I didn't buy the whole album, but I did buy a few tracks including versions of Here Comes the Bride, Wedding March, and a Bach song we ended up using for our parents and groom's processional. Everything sounded great!

Have you had your planning session yet? I have heard that if you make prior arrangements you can hear the organ to finalize your suggestions but of course the timing is a key role in whether or not you would get to do it.

I want "when you wish upon a star" to sound like the song not a bad rendition.

How do you girls think about walking down the aisle to that song? I was going to choose the "somewhere over the rainbow" song from 50 first dates....I absolutely love it but not sure if it will go because it sounds hawaiian and my wedding isn't even close to that.

Any of the songs you mentioned would be something memorable with a nice romantic touch.

My favorite Disney movie is Sleeping Beauty...so I walked down the aisle to "Once Upon A Dream".

I'm going back and looking at our BEO and this is what it looks like. Don't quote me on this but here is what I found:

(1) Audio Mixer, 4 Channel (NonTax) @ $45.00 per ech
(1) Powered Speaker Package (NonTax) @ $150.00 per ech
(1) Technician/Operator @ $80.00 per hr
(1) Wireless Microphone, Lavaliere (NonTax) @ $135.00 per ech

AV and Technical Services $410

This included the speakers, the person who operated them, and the wireless microphone was for our officiant. It doesn't look like as much as what other people have quoted.

Bear in mind we are getting married at SBP and recently found out that they have no sound system at all So we are having the violinist play all of the above and our videographer (Stan) will be replacing some, if not all with the actual music.
