I'm be a little sad if these are still here when we get there in a month's time - don't want mini-me's first view of the castle to the THAT! :scared1::scared1:

That looks awful! I understand they have to do the work but my goodness. I feel sorry for anyone visiting just now

They went up overnight during our trip.
I assumed it was due to the extreme cold making working conditions impossible, having been so many times I can't say it really bothered me, but looking at them there again in the pics it is an eyesore.

For anyone worrying, it is still possible to get fantastic photos of the castle from either side or right behind those tents.

I thought the same thing re anybodys first visit or even worse someones return visit if they came last year when the castle was all covered up

But it's for a good cause and like Jill says you can still get some good castle shots without been in them. It's just the long shot down or of Main st to/from the castle that's a bit impossible atm :goodvibes

Tbh - it doesn't matter, as you are walking down main street you can see the castle above it and walking around it you get the full impact of the castle!

It didn't spoil anything for us! Not nice, but didn't kill it!

It is an eyesore but understand totally why they have done it.

Agree about the photo angles - some of the best pics come from the side :). However, I think the view down Main Street - especially as your main entry into the park, is what that first impression is all about. For those people on a first time visit at the moment, they won't get that sadly :sad2:. I guess that is why DLRP seems much cheaper to visit at the moment - all the all offers etc for Jan/Feb/Mar - DLRP knew it was coming....

Still, on the upside, it is all going to look amazing for the 20th celebrations :goodvibes:cheer2:

It's the risk you take going off season, they gotta work on the Park sometime! January - March is usually the time they pick to do major touchups and any repairs they need to make to get the park all nice and shiny for the new season : )

It's not the best time to go no, because rides are closed (though DLP makes sure they keep as many open as possible, they just completed a big refurb program) and people have to pardon the amounts of pixie dust, but then that's why people pay more to go later in the year.

Even when we go in April the Mickey Meet and Greet won't be open and we'll have missed the new World of Disney stores opening by mere months. But it'll still be a magical trip regardless :wizard:
