My Dad is here this weekend from out of state. We have in inground pool that has a cement edge and a cement patio. The cement is starting to crack in a few places. My Dad says it is because water is getting in the cracks, freezing in the winter and making new and wider cracks. He thins we should seal it. I am scared it will be slippery and I really don't want to so it. I checked the sealer and it does not mention anything about being smooth etc...HELP!! anyone ever done this? Is is slippery? I can't have a slippery surface aroudn the pool. I can try a small area to see what it is like but I thought someone here may have done this. Thanks.

A sealer will not make it more slippery. Repair any existing cracks & then apply your sealent. There are a ton of different sealers on the market, so do some research before purchasing. I have used this product with great resulsts, not sure if it is available nationwide. http://www.hc-concrete.com

I am glad to hear that there are some that are not slippery. I would hate to seal it and have someone fall. My DS is a speical needs child and has issues walking already I don't want to add slippery cement. Thanks again. I will check it out at our local Home Depot and Lowes.
