Okay, we leave in 4 weeks for our trip. I have been diagnosed with cellulitis. I am on 3 antibiotics, pain meds (it is so painful) and went to the wound care center and have pressure bandages I have to wear for a week. I have decided I am going on this trip, and I am praying I will be well on the mend by then. I cannot be in a wheelchair in the parks, I have a daughter who uses a wheelchair/ stroller. Does anyone have experience with cellulitis? I would love some advice and/or stories anyone would like to share.

Twice. The first time took longer to treat, because I didn't realize it was a serious problem.

If you don't mind, I will PM with you later this (Friday) evening - I'm reluctant to post details in public.

eta: The wound care docter DID let me go to DisneyLand, less than four weeks into treatment. You should actually be fine by the time your trip comes.

you would need to check with your doctors for specifics.
For cellulitis, a lot depends on the extent of the infection. Someone with mild cellulitis (which doesn't sound like what you have) may recover quickly once on effective antibiotics (but is it still important to complete the antibiotics, even when the symptoms have improved before the antibiotics are completed). Someone with more severe cellutitis will require a longer time.

You might want to plan on taking someone else with you as a back up plan in case you need to be in a wheelchair/ECV.

Did you purchase trip insurance? I had cellulitis three times last year...not fun. Length of treatment varies by individual and it's not likely that anyone could tell you how long it will take for you to recover. My last bout of it was awful and very, very painful. Sometimes IV an antibiotic is needed.

If yours is severe enough for a wound clinic I'd bet you'll still be in pain for your trip. Did you ask them how long they expect it to take for recovery?
