How is cell phone coverage on property? We are planning to use cell phones to keep our large group in contact, but as Disney is private property, perhaps the cell coverage isn't good(not too many towers, etc. etc.)I have Sprint and the others have Cingular. Anyone have any problems with these services? Thanks.

I have Cingular, and have no problems getting a signal within the parks... as most times it is just DD and I - I am not waiting for a call, but I do like to call my DSis back in PA, and rub it in that I am in a park, and she is at work!!!!

now do I HEAR it ring in the park - that's another story - but if I were waiting for a call, I would be paying more attention, and probably holding it in my hand and not carrying it in my pocket!

I have sprint and I've had too many problems. Though be aware that some buildings get absolutely no service..Make sure your group learns to leave messages, and to check for messages after leaving an attraction

Our group had no problem getting a signal anywhere on property last year (one phone on Cingular, 2 on Verizon), and I heard the same from several other people who used cell phones while there.

I agree, though, that hearing it ring CAN be a problem out and about in the parks! I used the vibrate AND ring setting to increase the chances I'd realize I had a call coming in.

No problem with 3 verizon and one trackphone.

what about t-mobile?

my boyfriend tends to get dictracted and wander away easily.....

I have Virgin pay-as-you-go, which uses Sprint's network. Never had a problem - had a strong signal everywhere in The World.

I have cingular. I could never get a hold of my husband. He wouldn't feel the vibrate, but he would feel the vibrate for the voice message. Go figure! So, plan on leaving messages if you can't get a hold of the people. Now, he could call me. Maybe it's a Disney thing?

On my last trip I had T-Mobile and my Dad & DH both had Cingular.

Dad & DH had service EVERYWHERE....full bars and all.

T-Mobile was touch and go. Anytime I was deep into a building or something I had no service.

I always just put mine on vibrate and stuck in my pocket. I doubt I would hear it ring and I wouldn't want it going off in a quiet ride/show.

I have Verizon and had full service everywhere - from the line at Mission:Space to the middle of Kiliminjaro Safari. My friend had Virgin Mobile and I always got a hold of her though. I'm not sure if she ever got out of service.

My wife and I have Nextel and had no issues using either cellular service or Direct Connect.

We have Sprint. Service was spotty. The worst was waiting in the Space Mountain fast pass line and the ride was stopped. I couldn't get any kind of signal to let my DH know where we were.

I have Sprint, and I didn't have too many problems in the park. I stayed at POR, though, and had to walk a good distance away from my building to get a good signal. However, it was okay by the main lobby.

We have US Cellular and no problems anywhere on WDW property! :)

We have Alltel, too, so I'd be interested on how the coverage is.

We have a Nextel and a Virgin Mobile and both had great coverage in the parks and at the hotel.
